Beginning June 20th, Cosmopolitan will be running daily slot tournaments on the casino floor for 100 days.

We are giving away $100,000 over 100 days.

The daily prize pool is $1,000 with a top prize of $500. This is open to all Identity members and guests may earn up to 5 entries per day. Every 500 points is an entry (500 / 1000 / 1500 / 2000 / 2500 points).

New members also earn an entry at 50 points (so they may play 6x on their first day of eligible activity). Print your tournament entry tickets at the Identity desk. The tournament machines are located just across from the desk.

    1st - $500
    2nd - $250
    3rd - $150
    4th - $75
    5th - $25

(all prizes awarded in Identity Play)

Tournament play is from 1 pm - 9 pm. Point earning for the day goes until 8:30 pm. The tournament will run 7 days per week. (A player may only win one prize per day.) Sessions are 2 minutes long, being played on Siberian Storm video reel machines.

Winners will be posted by 10 pm the day of the event at the Identity desk. All standard information will soon be posted on our website.

I hope everyone comes and checks out what we're doing on the floor and has some fun!

Nice to know about these slot tournaments!

I have never been to the Cosmopolitan, and from all these posts on this forum, I have to make a visit one of these days.

I was wondering if there are other special offers for new Identity Card membership.

I remember MGM mLife giving away a free buffet and free slot play for certain amount of play on my very first visit to Monte Carlo.

Just getting their in the nick of time as I check in on September 25 for 3 nights. And you picked my favorite machine - Siberian Storm. Count me in!

Looking forward to it, plus looking forward to trying the new "retro" slot section. Thanks Kevin!

Sounds good. Notice it says it will be paid in cash? Will that generate any tax forms? If so, can people just get freeplay? After all, most would just as well put that back through your machines.

EDIT - I read the $1000 a day and did not see the "Identity Play" note at the bottom. Have to assume this is the same as freeplay.

It says all prizes are awarded in "Identity Play". I'm sure Kevin would agree that giving away cash prizes would be less beneficial to Cosmo anyway.

This is nice, I'll be there for 7 nights in July. Will have to see what the details are as far as the earning periods, hopefully they're close to 24 hrs, I've never done a daily, so I've never looked at how the earning period works..

Took part in this during my stay.. it was fun. I will say though that 500 points is a bit steep for an entry. The 1st night they didnt even get enough players to place 5 people as winners i was told. I played 2 days, only earning 3 entries (50 points was easy but the 500 was hard to get). Nyny only requires 100 points for theirs which is much more achievable for the average player.

I enjoyed my stay in any case and would like to thank kevin for the offer to stay. I hope they revisit the slot tourney set up so that more people can play and make it feel like a true tournament.

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure how to interpret Kevin's original post. It looks like you can play off your entries between 1:00pm and 9:00pm, and earn points up until 8:30pm. But I'm wondering if that means the entire earning period each day runs from 8:30pm to 8:30pm the following night, or is more restricted - do you know?

Good question. I'm not sure on the earning period but you can play anytime between 1 and 9pm.. theres a row of machines and an attendant waiting. Its not structured in any way and you can go back after 10pm to see if you won. Points are automatically added to your card, you don't need to be present. I would think the earning period is 830-830pm too.

Whoever told you that was incorrect. I saw a picture of the first day's results and there were 5 different winners. But for a $1000 prize pool tournament, I agree 500 points ($1250 slot/$3000 VP coin-in for silver members) is a lot. $2500 or $5000 prize pools would have more enticing, even if they couldn't do it for 100 days straight, imo. But at cosmo, I would guess dozens of people would be eligible to play each day, more likely over 100 per day would be eligible.

The earning period for the day starts at 5am and ends at 8:30pm.

Where did you find the 5am time?

Are you saying, that my play from 8:30 at night until the wee hours of the morning will not count towards entering the slot tournament?

I just went to their website and instead of listing the rules it wants me to check with the desk. And the folks at the desk may or may not be able to quote the exact rules. Why not list them online?

Probably too big of a pain to make the pain in the ass to give it to the webmaster. But Boyd in Vegas usually PDFs their official rules on the Web, so it can be done.

But unfortunately, the pic I attached says any play from 8:30p till 5a won't count toward it. I don't blame them for setting it up that way though. Cosmo is decently busy after 8:30p.
