I am getting ready to book Presidential Limo but am wondering if its just a waste money.
I mean I enjoy the limo but with Uber and Lynx that is a lot of money being just thrown away.

It's all about what you value. My co-workers likely think I'm throwing away just by going to Vegas. If the Limo means a lot to you, do it.

I would never do a limo in any other city. Seems like part of the experience in Vegas.

Years ago casinos were handing them out for low rollers like me with comp rooms. Now I'm hooked. Great after a long flight to stretch out. (Pun intended). Once that comp died out I had to pay so built it into my budget.

Used to do presidential but had bad experience last time. Trying a new company this time. Fingers crossed.

    What a mis-leading subject line.

Have you checked with the Bellagio to see what their price on a limo would be?
Booking it with them would also give you the option of using your express comps to pay for the limo at checkout or even getting it comped by a host

Have you looked at Bell Limo's "limo share" program? $28 per person round trip in an escalade, limo, or town car. You might share with another couple, but many get it solo for the same price---luck of the draw.

We're trying it for the first time this trip, but it's had great reviews. for two people, our total with fuel charge and tax was $64 total for both of us, ROUND TRIP, you just pay tip on top. To me, it's a great deal and not much more than a cab, but a lot less than a solo limo. (Thanks VMBer's...that's how I found it!)

But, you can't pick your car. We personally don't care about the 3 choices, but if your heart is set on an actual limo, then you might be willing to pay more, but for us, this was a great compromise.

P.S. Carol's option of checking with Bellagio was great...you could get it comped on the backend, whereas with the limo share, you wont.

    Taxis yes are loosing business.

Limos prob not much. Someone who uses a limo likely won't switch to Uber/lyft.

Taxi's are feeling it big time. LVA's question of the day addresses this very question. Also talks about why Lyft may be better to use in Vegas than Uber, full article:

We use Presidential every trip and highly endorse them. I've used Bell's once (not the ride share, but the reserved private limo) once, and it was awful. Weirdly, I later learned Bells/Presidential are the same company. So I guess it wasn't Bell's so much as the driver.

Anyway, for us its just part of our Vegas experience. First trip we ever went out was partly through work and we got a comped limo. Its become part of how we Vegas. We get the option with the "free" champagne, and that ride from the airport to the Palazzo (and killing off the entire bottle on the way), is one of our favorite parts. We haven't lost any hands or rolls or pulls, the possibilities are endless, and we're full of anticipation. It isn't until we're in the limo that we really feel like we're "there". The plane ride with drinks and all is great, but its the limo that signals to us we have arrived.

As others have said, a lot of people might think its a waste of money, and I know we could arrange for it through our hotel and likely get it comped, but its just kind of our tradition, and although it isn't "cheap", it doesn't cost that much that I have ever once thought "man I wish we hadn't done the limo."

To the uber/lyft point, we haven't taken a cab in Vegas on a couiple trips, we tend to walk most places, but if it isn't someplace we want to walk we uber/lyft it. We've never had a bad experience, and prior to that we never really had an enjoyable cab ride. So if you aren't going to use the limo, I endorse uber.

Great feedback. Thank you everyone, we had booked the ride that fit three people but now I think I am going to change it back to the Limo!

OK, I know I'll be in the minority here, but I hate the limo. We get a comped limo to and from every trip and I just can't stand getting in and out of those things. Give me a car or SUV anytime but I have asked our host if there are other car options and never got an answer. It's always the stretch limo.

If we comp my brother and his wife a ride in our limo and I have to take the front seat (facing backward), I literally have to crawl to the door.

Now is all my whining enough to turn it down? Hell no!

But, will you still be able to stop at a store to stock up on goodies on your way to your hotel?

Can we get a picture of that?:wiggle:

I had to do the sitting backwards thing one time coming home from the airport in the dark. I was borderline sick by the time I got home.

I usually opt for a cab since it's a routine for me at this point, but looks like I'm going for a limo next time. Thanks for the advice guys!

I also plan on getting the stretch escalade for that very reason of not wanting to crawl to the front seat lol.

If they didn't gouge me I would take the taxi, last time after saying no tunnel please the lady driver grilled me all the way there about how it's Vegas and supposed to be fast and how I shouldn't be cheap blah blah blah, if it was a guy I would have given him the f.o. And the finger goodbye. Now I don't take taxis in Vegas which is basically the same message

I can waste and blow money with the best of them, but knowingly be taken advantage of and be told why it's okay to rip off tourists and how it their job put a sour taste in my mouth

They should actually be thanking you for picking a taxi over an uber...can't really expect rational behavior out of people, lol. They're actually fueling their own demise.

Kind of a side question - when you guys have a personal limo, any recommendations on which store to go to? I'm not so familiar with which options are available in town.
