    Title says it all?

    -seating?
    -viewing/screens/tvs etc
    -Drink Comps
    -Track selection

and anything else you wish to comment on

spending our whole trip DT, and like to spend part of a day betting horses and a little baseball

we usually hang at Bellagio's or Caesars book when we are on strip, I know DT won't compare, but want the best experience we can get, we realize this will be a very different trip and actually welcome the change

The Plaza.... It's big but its not that great. For downtown however, its about all there is besides a few broom closets (Fremont/ The D) The El Cortez book isn't bad for downtown, but no atmosphere.

If you want to bet horses you are limited to three really. Plaza, Nugget, and Fremont. Viewing seating and track selection all favor the Plaza and in my mind its not close. They are also fairly easy on drink comps for horse bettors. Fremont is by far the easiest drink comps of any sportsbook I have been in but they expire at midnight that day. Plazas are good for 48 hours

Could have sworn that the El Cortez also handles the horsies.

not first trip downtown, just first ALL downtown trip; we love elCO and plan to spend some good amount of time there! Trust me, we are down to earth folks, who like Caesars and Bellagio because it allows us to pretend to be big shots while we place $5/10/20 bets on the ponies!!
