I never gotten a cabana, but was thinking of doing so at the Boulevard Pool, at the Cosmopolitan.
I can't stay hours at the pool with a casino so close by. Is it possible to get the cabana leave the cabana alone to go gamble, then come back in a couple hours? Or once you are gone it is given to someone else?

    Thanks

I have never gotten a cabana at Cosmo, but every other Strip hotel where I got one it was mine for the day

It's yours for the day. It's great for hanging out with a group. Can be a little pricey, but it's a food & beverage minimum, not a rental fee where you still have to shell out for your drinks.

Some are rental fees, the only one I know off hand is Mandalay Bay but I was pricing them last year and it is more than 1

Moorea beach club @ MB is a fee based and does not include f/b with the fee. Sucks!

cosmo is a minimum bev and food purchase. based on supply and demand. So it will be higher on nicer days, weekends, and around big events. also a 30 percent mandatory tip will be added to your bill.

30% mandatory tip is outrageous, egregious, preposterous.

The whole point of the cabana is that it is your reserved space for the entire day. You may come and go as you please and it will be waiting for you when you get back. That is why the fees can seem outrageous--they really aren't if you are planning to consume a lot of food and beverage anyway.

If you are leaving the cabana completely empty for a few hours, it would make sense to let the server earning those auto gratuities know you will be gone for a while. After all, she will want to present you with a bill to add an additional gratuity to the automatic service charge hahaha

Its actually 21% tip at Cosmo. With taxes its probably around 30% total on top of the F&B charge.

I was there last week and the pool attendant told me 30 percent. I wonder if he was rounding up with the taxes and such

Only way to find out Cosmo cabana costs is by calling them I presume? Didn't find much pricing help on the website

Definitely, It varies depending on demand. I can tell you that last Sept we got a great cabana at the Boulevard pool for $1500 F&B. The prices for daybeds at that time were $300, but for a similar daybed this May are $500. So, basically, yes - it depends and the only way to find out for sure is to call or e-mail for a specific date.
