Back when I got my CET card in Cleveland, I primarily played poker. Occasionally I would low-roll on the slots when I needed a break, but it was poker, poker, and more poker. Obviously, this doesn't generate much money for the casino. Now that I'm in a position to have fun and gamble more recklessly, if I use that card, will my history of low-rolling hurt my potential comps? Should I somehow manage to get a new card/account? Any information is greatly appreciated. I'm planning on doing some heavy gambling at a Vegas CET property for a couple days next month.
First log in to the TR website and see what you can get now. I don't think there's any benefit to try to set up a new account before your next trip, because it will have ZERO history, so it's not like you are going have comps show up in it prior to your next trip. If you go out there and play on your existing account during next trip, your overall rating will change pretty fast and the old poker play will barely factor in by the time you're done.
I wouldn't worry about it.....in the past I played very little at CET and just recently changed that and started giving them more play, my comps etc changed very quickly and my lack of play in the past didn't seem to bother.
Well, what's the alternative? Chuck is right. if you were to set up a new account (not sure how you would, as I think they want an ID to set up an account and would likely learn that you are already in their system), you would start with no play history and no comps. If you play bigger, your comps and offers will adjust. I say just play and see what kind of comps you get going forward
That's the funny/fortunate issue. I believe my name is spelled wrong in their system because my name was spelled wrong on my ID. It was minor, so I never got it corrected, but now that I have a new ID, they may issue me a completely new account if I requested it. But by the sounds of it, the old play won't factor much so I should be okay...
I don't think just because your name was spelled wrong they would issue you a new account, I am pretty sure they use other ways (or combination of ways such as DOB, SSN, DL#) to identify you. Your past history will be better than no history at all even if it was minimal play.
First, not really. First thing you should know is if you put in enough hours per day, even poker will get you lower end weekday comp rates on its own. Heck, CET seems to prefer me as a poker player than my short session BJ play. Second, CET sort of generates initial offers with whatever numbers they get from you, but I believe they also track a separate ADT for you in Vegas than at home (MDV or Market Daily Value). Third, they only ever look back so far historically. Play or even no plays from a couple years back or more are unlikely to have much impact if you have newer, higher play.
Oh wow, this is extremely helpful. Yeah I haven't used the CET card in probably 18-24 months, but maybe once in Vegas for a short slot run last March as I did a lot of casino hopping. Thank you for the reply!.
Talking about getting new player's card, sorry if it's too off-topic, I used the same driver's license (of course with same name, same address etc) and got two different player's cards/accounts at Mlife, Wynn/Encore and at Boyd casinos. I didn't do it on purpose, just happened. With Boyd, I received different offers on the two accounts at the same time. Later I asked Mlife and Boyd to combine my two separate accounts and they both did. I still have two accounts at Wynn.
Me too. When it happened the first time at Mlife, I was very surprised. Then it happened again and again, I was not worried anymore.
I wouldn't bother with a new card/ID. I was like you in the past, poker only and little way in the offers. Then I did an hour of $5 VP in Reno and I instantly started getting solid offers. All it takes is one session or trip of giving them good action and the system sits up and takes notice of you.
