The article is being generous calling him a curmudgeon, lol. He is downright ornery the few times I have interacted with him. That said, this is one of my favorite places to go in Vegas. Hope it stays open as long as possible

Too bad. I didn't get a chance to go to this place. Was on our list but kept being shoved on the back burner.

Well, now that I learned that the operator is an ornery fellow maybe it was best I didn't go. If it somehow survives it will still be on my list.

My husband would be crushed if this place closed. We spent many hours there on our last trip. He started as a fan of Pinball Pete's when he was in college at MSU and finds the pinball hall of fame to be one of the greatest things about Vegas.

If he is 60 then he is probably thinking of eventual retirement, moving on or "what will become of this place when I am gone?"

Since the Pinball Hall of Fame is a non profit and it requires volunteers, plus lots of his own time volunteered, it will probably take a couple of years to not only find a replacement but to bring them up to speed on maintaining and repairing the machines, especially the older ones.

So I don't think the place is on the verge of closing any day now, but he probably is looking 3-5 years ahead and where things will be if he doesn't find somebody to take over soon.

I will NOT tell my husband, as the prospect of running this as a retirement option would probably greatly appeal to him! And he just got rid of his pinball machines last year (he wasn't playing often enough -and bugger if he didn't make a profit on each machine he sold :rolleyes2: Makes it difficult for me to tease him about his hobbies)

And I don't wanna live in Vegas :Þ

I can see why the guy is "harsh". It would seem no one shares his dream. That's a sad place to spend your life. If he found some twenty something who was into this realm, he'd probably be great to be around.

No one wants to watch their dream die.

Ok. Next trip I'm going to stop in and play some pinball. Bring my bucket of quarters.

You won't regret it. Tons of pinball machines, one aisle of old video games, and even a few old mechanical games. Anytime I have a car in vegas I go there

Ditto. Whenever i have a rental car i spend a couple of hours there. Great place. Last summer i took my dad for his 70 th birthday and he was able to find a machine or two that he had played as a kid.
