What casinos downtown have the best comps as far as Freeplay/food and or future stays? I am looking to focus my play at two or three different casinos and hopefully earn a few comps... Not a big fan of Boyd properties...

Just curious. Why not a Boyd fan?
4Q and Golden Gate seem to be be very easy to earn FP and food credits.

I would recommend MSS, but since you don't like Boyd I would try Four Queens. Their rooms are mediocre, but if you can get past that the comps are great.

The ElCortez seem to be pretty generous on the comps.

I would have to say 4 Queen's and El Cortez (if we're excluding Boyd's).

For the same amount of play at either casino, you will get similar room, freeplay and food offers.

The difference between the two casinos is that the ElCo will send you monthly offers of rooms, free play and food credits but if you don't use the food credits, they are gone. We often get (between us) more than $100 on meals at the ElCo and never use more than $20.

With the 4Q's player's club, you earn points towards use on food and if you don't use them one visit, they will rollover to the next month (for up to one year). This is great for saving up for a good meal at Hugo's Cellar or Binion's Steakhouse.

The Golden Gate would come third in my opinion. While their rooms aren't large and fancy, I think they give more per play in free room, free food and free play comp offers compared to other places downtown. Mind you, it's been a couple years since we've played more than an hour there (we usually stop in just to use the $10 free play and may run a $20 through) but my husband still received an offer today for 3 nights per month, $10 free play and $15 food. Not an outstanding offer in itself but considering how much play we give them, it is more than we deserve. So long as you keep popping in, they seem to keep you on their mailing list for a long time.

How much coin in do you think it takes at 4 Queens or El Co to start receiving offers?

I'm going from memory here. I could look back on my stats but I'm writing this as the Canadian Woman's Hockey team is beating Finland 3-1, so I have to keep it short :)

At 4Q's, I would play maybe 2 hours on quarters at 9/6 DDB and get 2 nights or a bogo. If I played 4 hours per day, I'd get 3 nights free rooms.

My husband would play 4 hours (during the course of the day) on dollars and get 3 nights and free play. If he played quarters for 4 hours, he'd get 3 nights free rooms and minimal free play (guessing $60?). He plays faster than me, so his comps after 4 hours on quarters is always better than mine.

I bet you could get a minimal offer with $1000 coin-in, maybe less.

$3000 might get you free room offers. $3000-$4000 on two or three consecutive trips definitely will.

They seem to have tightened up a bit [4 Queens}. But with $4,000 average on vp I still get 2 nights including weekends, $80 FP. I used to get more. Have built up quite a bit in comps?

I can't for the life of me understand why I get comped really good at Four Queens, Binons, and Orleans but get nothing from MSS, D, and Golden Gate. I play Craps with $25 minimum around 8 hours per day. Four Queens gives me room comps and great rack rates to include weekends, Binons gives me great food comps, and Orleans gives me free room to include weekends and decent food comps. Thought about El Cortez but don't like the atmosphere.

You said Orleans gives you rooms. My guess is Orleans is your Boyd home casino. Most Boyds offers will come from your base.
