Yep, thats about as Lowroller as you can get these days I think...welcome to the club...

I am sure someone else has a better definition, but if you have a small gambling budget and/or stick to low limit games/slots you are considered a low roller

Food budget I don't think counts, I think there are some out there who low-roll their gaming, but eat well, and those that play high and hard that look for every meal bargain in the food court that they can..

In my humbled opinion, if you are having fun, it doesn't really matter which side of the coin you are on!

Like fenway said, it doesn't really matter :) It's not a competition.

I personally wouldn't say that $350/day for a gambling budget is necessarily "low roller". $350 coin in per day is definitely low roller though.

There are many people here that might bet that much (or 10x more) on a single hand. To them, $350/day is for sure low rolling it.

Some people also use the term when their gambling budget for a specific trip is a lot less than one of their normal trips.

So for a 3 day trip you're going to spend $1050 on gambling and $450 on food. Yeah, you're not even in the ball park for being a low roller!

Everyone has a different opinion of what low rolling is. My daily budget used to be $50 for gambling. Then it slowly crept up and does vary on each trip. I don't think $350 per day is low rolling, but a High Roller that spends $100 per bet would think so. The less you bet the less you lose, low rolling is smart! It's all about having fun, if you're doing that then that's what matters.

I usually play some low limit poker tournaments between 60 and 100 buy in and 40ct's - 80 cts slot , so i guess that 350 usd is pretty " decent " right ?

This is correct. I think when most people use the term on these boards, they mean that they either consider themselves a low roller or they consider whatever level of play they are discussing to be "low rolling" compared to how they usually play. So its a relative term. My friends give me a hard time often when I say I was "low rolling" and only betting black chips, lol, because none of them bet more than red with the occasional green

LOL, you're a high roller compared to me! I'll very seldom go through $350 per day playing! If it gets to about a $100 loss or so I'll quit for the day.

And, I never go through $150 per day for food, for one person that is. :)

It's all relative. To some $500 a day is barely a hand at blackjack but for others it's the whole day worth. Like ukfanatic said its related to your bankroll.

I had a budget of about $100 a day for gambling for a 7 day trip. But this stretched a bit more. For example, stick $20 into a video poker machine, play for 30 minutes, get a comped drink or two, and cash out for $40. So I still had $100 for gambling, and $20 'profit'. I suppose I was prepared to lose $100 a day.

According to Mlife my total coin in was $910 (Caesar's can't tell me what my coin in was there, and we also played downtown)

We still had a great time with a bit of blackjack, roulette and video poker, but that is not big money AT ALL compared to pretty much everybody else.

Not to go off topic, but I agree with the sentiments that you can have fun betting whatever amount. My first ever gambling trip was a day trip and my entire gambling budget was $50. I made it last all day and had a great time. Now that I bet a lot more, I still "low roll" every now and then and the gambling experience is different. When I play large and win, the rush is fantastic (or at least it used to be; not as much in recent months). And if I "low roll" and bet significantly less, the experience (more than the result) is fun because I am not concerned as much about winning and losing

compared to the general public, $500> per day is high rolling...
compared to this forum, $500> per day is low rolling.
    welcome to the millionaires club.

Agreed it's all relative. I think people use the term to make themselves feel better or worse to where they are at. Maybe exists more here when they see the higher end bettors and their TR. No labels necessary if $350/day is good great, if not fine.

We did a trip once with 2 nights at Main Street Station and 2 nights at Sam's Town. Both hotels gave us free rooms, so we went ahead and booked the trip. Our gaming budget for the two of us was $50/day. That was a low-rolling trip, IMO.

But the best part of that trip was our final day at Sam's Town. My husband took $10 to the blackjack table and turned it into a $100 chip. At the same time, I hit my first royal flush. We ended up coming home with more money than we arrived with. YAY!!

I think the term "low-rolling" is relative and you're going to get a different answer on the definition, depending on who you ask. I think there are a lot more of us with small budgets, but the vocal minority loves to post their big wins and piles of chips. We were sure impressed with Dan's black chip he got at Sam's Town, but it pales in comparison to a pile of yellows or chocolate chips. :)

I think the general consensus in this thread is that there is a "low-roller" and "low-rolling". Low-ROLLING is a relative term usually described as playing less than what you normally would. Depending on the person that could be someone betting $5 a hand a blackjack that normally bets 15-25, or someone betting $10,000 a hand who normally bets $50,000 a hand. Anyone can be, or have a trip that's "low-ROLLING". Low-Roller refers more to where you fall within the gambler hierarchy. That definition will change of course depending on your definition of gamblers. There are lots a people who visit Vegas every year and might gamble a few 20's over the course of a trip on a random machine here and there. If we're considering those people part of the gambling population, then even a $200/day gambler could be considered more than a low-roller. If we are just talking about the people who gambling is one of, if not THE main part of their trip to Vegas, that same $200/day gambler might be just about the bottom of the spectrum.

i dont know if i am a low roller, i think i am (although im diamond)
as the last years i became very frugal and taking full advantage with all the perks/comps which comes with a diamond card
i quit slotplaying 2 years ago(cost me too much money(
i play pokertournaments at ballys/Flamingo or PH which are not above 80$ to my recollection
i play tx holdm against dealer(my favorite game) i dont have a budget per day and my minimal bet is about 30$ per hand and average i think 80$....i have some rules and limits though and i can take a break from gambling(you must sometimes when you are smart) but if you have less control than for many people its good to have a budget per day

I agree 100%. Who really cares what a casino or another player labels you? I hope (and doubt) no one measures their self worth by their ability and willingness to gamble large sums. But I digress. Everyone should bet what they are comfortable betting and enjoy it

I think this can also be defined as to how much risk you are taking. I consider someone who has $300 and sits down at a $100 min BJ table more of a high roller than someone who feeds that same $300 to a 25 cent slot... Just my opinion.
