    Trips to Las Vegas:

We are ready to head back to Vegas in a few weeks for our semi-annual (OK, quarterly) trip to Vegas. For the 2nd trip in a row, we will not be using any MyVegas "rewards". Both my wife and I have over 500,000 LP, but there is nothing worth spending these on anymore (at least for us). As stated by others, it is a fee game that cost nothing (but our time). Over the years, we had a good run on the game and rewards, but that appears over for us now.

Some highlights of our rewards over the past few years:

    - Free 2 night Jacuzzi suite at NYNY (no resort fee)
    - Multiple other free night stays (multiple nights per trip using both accounts) at MGM Grand, Monte Carlo, NYNY, and Mirage (again no resort fees except for the last time - an MGM stay)
    - $50 MC dining credit multiple times (at least 4 between our accounts)
    - Multiple free Buffets for two at Aria, Mirage, ExCal, Monte Carlo, Station properties
    - A few freeplay's
    - Foundation Room
    - Multiple free T shirts and drinks
    - Tournament of Kings
    - Shark Reef for 2
    - Multiple Free Cirque shows for two
    - A few other meal credits
    - Beer bucket and Nacho's by the MC pool
    - Free drinks and Chicken dinners at Rock'n'Rita's (I believe it was a $50 credit)
    - I'm sure there more that I cannot recall at the moment

MyVegas we great at the beginning with great rewards for a relatively low LP amount (I think the 2 night Mirage and NYNY suite stays were @ 100,000LP's), and there were no restrictions on having to stay at an MGM property or have to pay any fees. I figure we received a couple thousand dollars work of rewards from this little game. But, as with many other things, it got too big to be able to sustain its success. MyVegas has become a victim of its own success. As chip inflation set in, reward quality and quantity had to decrease to (in my opinion) nothing worthwhile now. I am not badmouthing the game at all. I am thankful for all it has provided us over the years. It is just something that is no longer part of my personal Vegas trips anymore. MyVegas rewards were usually the only thing that gave us reason to go to the strip anymore (We now primarily stay downtown or off strip). I plan on still checking in on the game every few weeks to maintain the LP stockpiles in our accounts. Who know, perhaps someday they may bring along some new rewards that are usable for us (MGM Grand Detroit rewards would be nice - hint, hint, MyVegas).

My only hope is that other destinations will continue to add. We were able to take advantage of free buffets in Biloxi this year which was nice. In Vegas I usually just get the free buffetts since the dinner onces are more than a nights stay for two of us at full price.

We've had a good run at I too but there's not much to tempt us for our next trip. Maybe $50 freeplay each and a couple of buffets if we can wangle them.

Mrs Mikey and I have both got over 1 million LP's but I can't see us making much of a dent in that. Still, it's free stuff so I guess we shouldn't really grumble!

I am not so disappointed in the dwindling MGM slots as I am in the slowness in bringing on other partners. Once they started on that course, I expected them to keep it up.

I have a BOGO for Bellagio buffet on my next trip and I'm going to use Express comps for the BO, so still "kinda" free.

The one good thing about BOGOs is that they typically don't require a stay.

I've mentioned this on other threads, but I feel worst for people who bought any chips (I never have).

I mean, I have almost 700K LPs and nothing worthwhile to spend them on (I didn't cash them in on previous trips, hoping to save them for something big). My strategic loss, but again, the game hasn't cost me a nickel to play.

But the game really pushes the purchase of chips. The value of those purchased chips has plummeted as MGM has tightened up their reward offerings and others have left the program. Those are the people I feel bad for. They purchased chips to play for more LPs to turn them into "stuff" and now that "stuff" that was there when they purchased the chips are long gone.

I get what you're saying and we have a ton of LPs left as well, but I honestly believe there will be a better group of rewards to chose from when the summer months come. Call it wishful thinking maybe, because you're right, it can't get much worse.

I noticed today a couple of the properties now have a reward for two free nights.

Why would you expect that any company just gives out rewards for nothing? As long as they see it as an marketing investment they will try, but I am quite sure most reward partners got back much less than they thought. When you follow the boards and facebook groups you see people telling how proud they are to use as many rewards without spending a single cent at the properties that gave them. And yes, I know there are plenty of us who spend a fair amount of money. But I am quite sure there are not enough who bring in the desired revenue for the rewards they gave the game, especially in the beginning.

I also miss the days of cheap very valuable rewards, but to be honest I always compare even todays reward situation with any other method of getting free rewards in Vegas. And no, you dont have to spend money or at least not a lot if its not for the purpose of being able to play on a facebook game. Like the thousands of other games people spend money on on facebook for getting virtual sheep or virtual coins and earn just nothing in real life.

I still earn most comps by risking real money in real casinos and that is a good thing, at least for me. But I dont have a single trip to Vegas where I cannot find anything in MYvegas, be it a free buffet, a CDS show I would not go to otherwise, some additional freeplay or one (or now for probably limited time two) additional nights at Bellagio or Aria.

So if this is not worth your time for playing anymore fine, but for me, as I like playing some of the slots also, I just keep collecting and will find something as a nice add on for my next trip

Looking at the banners in this thread above: Sam's Town, Harrah's, El Cortez, Encore, The Orleans, Caesar's Palace, Paris and Wynn.....and people wonder why one company's rewards got tighter??

Was told that you can't use EC as payments so it is up to the casher. I have not redeem any since over a year but was asking when I was at the MLIFE desk getting my card and the person next to me was getting some MyVegas rewards and the person at the desk said the purchase had to be cash CC or room charge and not Express Comps. or Comps.

Can you use Express Comps to pay off your room charges like at CET? I obviously don't play at MLIFE much!

Can't you just charge the buffet to your room? Then you can use the Express Comps to pay for your charges at checkout.
