I understand there is no smoking in casino hotel rooms since last year when I was there. Is there smoking in the casinos at the machines? Gawd I hope so! Thanks!

I think there are still casino hotels with some smoking rooms. It was an option when I booked at Caesars recently.

There are some nonsmoking areas in many casinos these days, and maybe a couple entire casinos that are nonsmoking (though I can't think of any offhand), but the vast majority of the gaming areas still permit smoking.

Yes. Sadly, I don't think any Vegas casino could get away with banning smoking throughout the facility.

Just went to NOLA. Was kind of (pleasantly) surprised that Harrah's casino was completely smoke-free.

Harrah's isn't happy about it. They've lost business to other casinos outside of New Orleans were smoking is still allowed. I do like gambling in non-smoking casinos though. The difference is immediately evident to me. But Vegas won't get rid of smoking on the gaming floor soon, maybe ever. I dunno if I have even seen a non-smoking gaming section anywhere in Vegas.

There was a small area in Palazzo (not sure if it's still there). Coming from the check in desk & heading towards the elevators, it was the first part of the casino on your left.

I know there's also a non smoking area in excalibur, where i like to stay (don't judge me. ..lol). No tables, but a bank of machines. I feel like a nonsmoking area is a good place for casinos to dial down pay tables because folks who go there are mostly gonna be focused on the nonsmoking aspect and won't be the type of gamer who is checking paytables...

It is a city wide ordinance that applies not just to casinos. I was indoors at Pat O'Brien's and there is no smoking there either (I think they still allowed smoking in the courtyard). I know it must be hard on smokers since they now have to go outside, but as a non-smoker, I enjoyed coming back to the hotel at night, not smelling like an ashtray.

I'm curious where this is. I stay there and have never noticed it. I'm a smoker and hope I wasn't smoking in a non smoking section.
Is it maybe by the Starbucks/rotunda entrance? I don't play in that area much so maybe it's there?

It's literally no bigger than 10'x10', tucked away in a corner...it's either by that Starbucks kiosk, which leads to the rental car desk, or in the corner across from there by the sherwood cafe.

I am confused by the OP's question. Are you asking about Las Vegas smoking policies? In Vegas, MGM properties have banned smoking in the room. Other properties have smoking rooms, not banned. Playing on the casino floors, smoking is rampant.

does caesars casino have non-smoking areas? Or have a strong smoke smell? Taking my mom who has COPD and the smoke makes her cough. Any help on best places to stay would be appreciated.
