I am taking a group of guys to Vegas for the big game and we have never been there during this time. Where is a good place to watch for some rookies?
we are staying at cosmo and are low rollers. (don't ask how we scored a terrace there)

looks like there are resort specific vip parties and such that we did not get invited too...
every bar and club seems to put on a big game party ranging from 75 to 400 bucks a person for some sort of food and drink package
and then I assume the sports books are still free and just a relaxed place to watch but who knows

What would you recommend for watching the big game for the first time? It is getting to be last minute so i am thinking just getting to the cosmo sports book early and spending the day there and saving spots while we take turns making food and beer runs..

With a group I would do everything I could to get a reservations somewhere ASAP even if it's off the strip. If you plan to watch in the sports book and want a seat plan to be there by 7 AM to grab a spot and park all day. I would guess the best seats in the book will be reserved. Maybe check next door at Monte Carlo at the Pub

Yes it is very crowded and every location will be looking to charge a minimum on food and drink or just a straight up entrance fee.

Even some off strip places do it. We used to go to Steiner's and they charged $50 to hold a spot and $100 at the door. It was all you can eat and drink off the menu and had boxes and prizes.

Just start calling places to see if there is availability and what their fees are.

    Good luck!

I am staying at Gold Coast this w/e for my first Super Bowl.

I am lucky that I have a VIP SB Party to go to.

looks like most places are limited seating left and most are like 75 to 300 per person up front and that comes with some sort of unlimited drink and food. Unfortunately out of 4 of us, 2 have limited budgets. Looks like I will have to pull something out of my a$$ here lol

My first Big Game in Vegas was in 2006 (Seahawks / Steelers). My buddy was a player at Stardust and got a comped room and comped party.

Last year I was in the same situation as you... wanted the party without the cost. We ended up at The D's free party in the Downtown Events Center. They have a huge tent with multiple TVs. You can sit on a general admission folding chair, or buy a package and get a table. With the free admission, there are multiple bars and food concessions (last year they had Marco's pizza and wings and American Coney dogs) for a la carte purchase.

I would recommend it again. You have to RSVP in advance, check the flyer here.

Also, I remember considering South Point as their party was free. Here is their link for this year's party, it doesn't indicate if it is still free or not.

I have never been to LV for the SB.

I would just watch in my room.

Aren't the sportsbooks full of drunk and loud obnoxious people cheering after every play?

Check Excalibur or Hooters and Maybe the Trop. They might have more economical solutions. Good luck!

    Hopefully you found something!

The problem I have with watching in my room would be non-HD picture.

At least at V/P they don't have freaking HD channels

This is best part of watching the Superbowl in a sports book.

Cheering after the coin toss, cheering after a safety, cheering after random receiver hits the over on his receiving yards...

i watched it in the new cosmo sports book. I hit all three of my bets lol bnocos moneyline +190, the under, and von miller for mvp at 22-1.. I cleaned up pretty well. the new book is pretty nice and has a few bar games like pool and that shuffleboard curling game.. right on the casino floor to which i like.. it doesn't feel like its a separate thing
