Group sit down after wedding for 20

I am getting married at the bellagio next march 2017. I am looking for something that 20 of us can sit down (doesn't have to be at the bellagio) and have dinner and not break my budget. Maybe no more then $30 a person. Also, I am coming with non fancy people that dont like fancy upscale food. They love Ellis Island. I have already contacted them. They have a room that holds 15 and if people cancel we will use that. But for 20 we would have to be in the main restaurant and I'm not sure I want us in the middle of the restaurant with a bunch of tables surrounding us. I like the idea of a small room with just us.

Is there anywhere else in vegas like the cafe at ellis island that has a better setup, like their own room? We like the food at the cafe. Itialian would be ok, but the groom doesnt really like italian, but will eat it if he has too.

 

Maybe Maggianos? I know the one in my town has a room large enough to seat 20. I think there is still one at Fashion Show Mall

What time is the dinner? Many of the off-strip mid priced dining options open at 4-5pm. My sister was wed at 1pm , and they did her Dinner at 3pm at the Prime Rib Loft at the Orleans. They did our party before their regular opening. This was 7 years ago, and it was nice and was about $30 per head for food. I think we had 40ish people.

Might be a bit outside your budget but Mon Ami Gabi has some nice private rooms

 

You can't do a group menu or family style dining at Maggianos for $30pp.

Not a private room but you could reserve a section overlooking the pool at the Beach Cafe at Tropicana and do dinner (without wine, alcohol) for $30pp. Perhaps you can contact them and work out a group menu at a reduced price to help offset cost for alcohol/wine/beverages. http://www.troplv.com/las-vegas/restaurants/beach-café-comfort-food

It would be a good idea to see if you can set up a fixed menu with 3 or 4 selections for entrees wherever you decide to go to avoid chaos.

The 24/7 Cafe at Palms has a private dining room and you could do a group dinner there for $30pp without alcohol. They have a prime rib special for $9.99 and arrange group menus.

Another option could be a buffet that includes wine, beer and beverages like Mirage.

 

Ok, so an update..I am willing to go higher then 30...can do $50 if its worth it. Ellis Island wants 600$ for 12 people. I am having trouble with $50 a head for a ten dollar steak. Maggiano is a last resort due to fiance not liking italian. I sent the tropicana an email...waiting to hear back..

Any other suggestions?

 

I also got married at the Bellagio and we had our wedding dinner in a private room at Piero's (Italian but they have steak,etc), it's off the strip but not far off, we took limos and a party bus there, they did a great job and were very reasonable. Of course this was in 1999 but was actually recommended to me from the wedding coordinator at Bellagio. I think we had 25 people.

 

I had my reception at Maggianos several years ago. We had 24 people in a private room. It was awesome. I'm sure prices may have gone up since then but I think it was around $85 per person. However, this included an OPEN bar for 4 hours. My guests were drinkers so we definitely got our money's worth LOL. No worries if someone does not like Italian it is family style and there are non-italian options. Not sure if you can read this but this is the menu we chose - we had beef and mashed potatoes as an option.

 

Will you have access to cars, or mind driving? That price point is tricky on the strip.

On the strip, you might want to call the buffet at Paris. I know that they take reservations, and their dining area does have a couple of somewhat separated dining areas. No idea if you can book one for a party and have it semi private, but its probably worth asking. I know a buffet is a bit cheesy, but if these are Ellis Island people it could go over well. Plus it is right across the street, just over 30 bucks for a weekend dinner, and under 50 with alcohol included. And the groom doesn't have to eat Italian.

Also, reading about what EI quoted you, one tip I have read before (no personal experience) ... don't tell them you are booking this for a wedding. Just a group reservation.

Also, generally I have had a lot of fun with group meals at Brazilian Steakhouse type places. That would be Samba at Mirage, Pampas in the Miracle Mile, or Fogo De Chao (which would likely be better although I haven't been to the Vegas one) offstrip. Could push the $50 budget, but its another option in the non italian category.

 

Fiance not liking Italian? That might be a deal breaker for me! LOL!

A friend of mine hosted his 50th birthday dinner at El Segundo Sol in the Fashion Show Mall, which I was skeptical about, but it was really nice and the food was very good. I'm guessing it is in that price range but I didn't see the final bill.

Anything not in a hotel will likely be a lot cheaper. You might look around at a non-casino restaurant if people are likely to have cars.

If the crowd is really laid back, you could have a picnic at a park and hire a caterer or a food truck, or something like that. It could be a lot of fun, but not exactly a traditional vegas experience.

 

I would have to agree on the buffet at Paris. DW and I went down last August for a wedding, and they had a private room set aside for us. (I want to think there was 20-30 people) IIRC, the pricing was right in the neighborhood of $30. Decent food, loved the crepes!

We had our wedding dinner at Buca De Beppo at Excalibur after getting married at Luxor. It was $57.95 the Bravissino package which included 2 appetizers, 2 salads, 2 pasta dishes, 2 entres, 2 side dishes, 2 desserts, and unlimited drinks for call brands and well drinks. We were more then satisfied.

 

I think some people are missing that the OP would like to keep it around $30pp.

Bucca De Beppo for sure . Choice at Ecaliber, Ballys and a stand along bldg just off the strip. They love large crowds and serve "family style" meals so everyone can sample everything. The food is fabulous and they have a great salad and cheese bread. 30 per person should work out okay but make reservations for a group your size.
