Wife says she would like to see Elton John on our next trip (would be 1/29). Any ideas on discounts for these tix? Currently the best available in ticketmaster are about $550/pair, but since I don't really care to Sergio and j already took my wife to see him locally last time he came around, I'm not thrilled about spending the $$ but at the same time don't want to go with crappy seats either. I have no play history at Caesars nor wish to have any so comps are out for sure.

basicaly never , ive seen it sold out and people waiting to get in , so unless its a very slow time forget it, and ive never seen a discount for elton. just buy what you can get but check stubhub.com some times brookers buys them and you can get them at the last minute from cheaper but its a crap shoot.

Sorry, don't know for Elton but have been able to get tickets at Tix4Tonight for Rod Stewart, which is also at the Colosseum.

I think it depends what kind of mood he's in, I've read reviews where he's thrown tantrums and sped through his setlist. I went in April and the show was closer to 2 hours and the last song was one of my favorites. I wouldn't pay more than 100 per ticket, and there wasn't really a bad seat in the house. He does have a lot of visuals but he was very good vocally. I went in with low expectations because I wasn't even born when he was popular but I was surprised, and knew every song.

The opening "Bitch is Back" is worth the price of the ticket..

If you want to take a risk, I would suggest looking at Craigslist on the day of the show. I post last minutes tickets there whenever I am in Vegas. I usually have multiple tix to different shows and decide on the ones I will see based on where I am gambling shortly before the show. Any other tix go up for sale on CL. Last trip, my host gave me 3 tickets to Elton. I was supposed to meet my friends at Gordon Ramsey for dinner and then head to the show. They cancelled last minute and I posted the tix on CL with the cost as "Free, a beer would be nice" No takers, they went unused.

His show run time is all over the place.

EJ is contracted for AT LEAST 90 minutes. He can't go less. There are nights when the audience is on fire and he's feeling good: I've seen him go for nearly 3 hours. I've also seen him literally get angry at the crowd for being lifeless and look at the egg timer he keeps beside the piano... And stop EXACTLY at 90 minutes.

Just get up and leave. Like he's late for a bus.
