Here is where I read the news: http://thevegasparlay.com/monte-carlo/monte-carlo-sports-book-move/

I have mixed feelings. Relocating the book to the Pub makes sense. The Pub is a great place to watch sports. But I have a soft spot for the Monte Carlo book and a lot of fond memories. MC used to be my vegas home base eight years ago and my friends and I had a lot of great days in that book. Also the first place I ever won a $5k wager (the under on a Knicks/Heat game right after the Knicks acquired Carmelo Anthony). Hopefully the replacement will have good sushi

Definitely curious to how this is going to look. I went in there last trip to watch a game and changed my mind. It was to cramped imo and the couches looked filthy.

Anyone have any recent info about this? Sister and BIL are staying at MC over New Years and I thought this might be a decent place for us to grab an easy lunch and watch a little football.

Everything should be good for them - as the article says, the change isn't happening until some time in 2016 and right now the sportsbook is still where its always been.

It was my home base for 4-5 years too. Lots of good memories in the sports book. I assume this means the VP bar is going away too which is one of my favorites.

The new location won't see near the foot traffic as the Pub is tucked away in the back. But you are right, the Pub is a great place for sports with tons of TVs and different beers.

Just got back from MC. I was told the sports book was going to half the size, staying where it is. They also thought the sports book bar would turn into a 4 sided or round bar and go on the back side as well.

Any indication what thy are doing with the rest of the space. Even if they increase the size of the sportsbook bar, that still leaves plenty of square footage

sushi restaurant, I have been told. Last I heard was that the whole sports book with the bar eliminated was going to the pub.

Yes, they said a restaurant. At first, they said it was moving to the pub, but recently I think they think its staying but cutting in half because the book is mostly dead during normal times. This is coming from the sports book bartenders, so maybe they are not being honest with them. I would think logistically the book in the pub would be a nightmare.

That's what I had heard a while back as well. But this rumor that they are keeping the book there, only smaller, made me wonder if the restaurant plan had changed
