    The Delano

If anyone has stayed there recently?
    1. How was it?
    2. Still worth it vs a Suite in regular Mandalay Bay?
    3. If you were a past guest of "The Hotel @Mandalay Bay, is Delano better, worse, or likes/dislikes.

    Thanks for replies in Advance,

Our last trip was Aug 2013 & we enjoyed The Hotel @Mandalay Bay in the past.

THEHotel at Mandalay Bay in years past was a favorite for my husband and me. Delano is fine, but the living furniture is now pretty blah think Hospital or Ikea. Also they have managed to find the most uncomfortable couch ever and had the hardest pillows on the bed I have ever had, but the pillow situation has been resolved and they now have softer ones. However most of us don't spend that much time in our rooms in Vegas so if you need a separate bedroom from a living area and also want a half bath it's still a good place to stay. The main bath and the half bath are still pretty much the same as they were when it was THEHotel. While I haven't stayed in one yet, I heard the newly renovated rooms in Mandalay Bay are nice. I suppose between the two I would pick the one that gives me the better comp offer or if paying for it, the best deal.

We both prefer The Hotel to the Delano. The Hotel had darker hues that seemed richer and more luxurious. Would definitely go for the Delano over even the newly remodeled Mandalay rooms We were able to get a remodeled room on our trip last month, but the Delano is still the better choice. The rooms are very modern, bright and pretty stark. If you stay at Delano, try and get a Panoramic Suite. The views are awesome. I'm going to enclose a few pictures so you can compare. The first are the remodeled Mandalay rooms, and the last are the Panoramic Suite at Delano. There is a perk/situation that helps make suites at MB better. If you are carded to get access to the lounge when staying in suites at MB, at least for us, that is awesome. The hours are weekend, so weekday would not help.

Mostly suites at Delano vs only some at MB - so if there is a chance you might not get a suite, then booking Delano would be a plus.

And, since the question comes up all the time... the walking distance to the casino floor is pretty much the same. Not a decision factor.

For us (not everyone), a room with a separate living room is a big plus due to sleep schedules. Having that extra half bath is next. Access to lounge for light snacks/drinks is next. For that reason, we have never stayed at 4 Seasons. I think the number of suites is limited and we are not quite that high on the casino donation list.

Just spent 4 nights in Delano this past weekend and we just love this hotel. Great value and its easy access to the casino, easy access to cab, and never a cab line at Delano.
The only thing I would change about it is to give them a better room service menu. The room is very comfortable.
We were in a regular King Suite this year and I prefered it over the Panoramic for the extra closet/storage space.
Also went to the BathHouse Spa at Delano and it was pretty sub par for Vegas. My husband went to Spa Mandalay and said it was good.

For us the Delano suites are better than THEhotel only because of the refresh. Our preference is for the darker color schemes over the bright white of Delano. But in the past 4-5 years the suites at THEhotel were showing a lot of wear, so refreshing the rooms is a big plus.
However, I love the color scheme and style of the Delano lobby and public areas on the first floor. I find the mix of earth tones and wood very welcoming and comfortable.
On our last trip (Oct 2015) we stayed in a refreshed Mandalay Bay resort king room, and it was a big improvement over what I can recall from prior stays in MB king rooms (our last stay in such a room was 6-8 years ago).
For us, having the extra bathroom and separate living room at Delano makes it more comfortable than a resort King room at MB.
The Four Seasons Spa is my favorite spa at the MB property. I prefer the Mandalay Bay fitness center, though.

Liked TheHotel better than Delano as it looked more upscale and nicer. It is still a great place to stay and I still prefer it over MB and I just stayed there a couple weeks ago.

I liked the old color scheme of the rooms myself better and the toiletries but that is where it ends. The remake of the lobby, Franklin, the addition of all the media and charging ports in the rooms and other aspects of Delano give it the nod for me over THE and THE always had the edge over MB just for the all true suites aspect.

THE over Delano. But I still stay there 9 out of my 10 trips a year. Miss THEhotel colour schemes vs the white Ikea feel of Delano. I am a fan though of Dellas' Kitchen vs THEcafe.

I preferred THE over Delano, but Delano is way better than Mandalay Bay.

I checked into one of the newly remodeled Resort rooms at MB yesterday and was pretty disappointed. The room was fairly fresh with a newer tv and furnishings, but the bathroom seemed virtually untouched except for the removal of the tv (I love watching tv while getting ready). For some reason, I was expecting renovations that were similar to the dramatic change I experienced when the Linq was completely redone. MB simply changed the carpet and wallpaper in the bedroom and didn't do much else.

I went downstairs to see about switching back to a deluxe room but none were available and they ultimately moved me to Delano after some back and forth. It's way nicer and the extra space is surely welcome.

    **update**

    Update, wow

So not such a good deal for us any M-Loaf's
Not impressed with the reports of sterile hospital rooms at the Delano.
Missing TheHotel was a great thing while it lasted.

/time for the switch up, Comps:beer:Comps Way better for us at Hard Rock,
than M-Loaf. Canceled Delano Res, & going with Hard Rock HRH King Suite.

    thanks for the Input

Have to reply and agree with the majority here. I was a long time THE Hotel loyalist, staying there pretty much every other trip for many years. I have stayed at Delano twice and, while I certainly don't hate it, it just seems like a downgrade from the old place.

The colors, as others have said, are gross and distracting.

The lobby bar, which used to be a quiet place to grab an afternoon drink, is now a hipster lounge we couldn't wait to leave.

I checked in around 10 PM and it was loud as you could possibly imagine with music blaring. Certainly a big change from the peace of THE Hotel.

Still a good hotel but no longer in my rotation of places to stay.
