I've only been to Vegas a few times, but I can feel myself being drawn in, lol! Have never been downtown yet, want to check it out and try out the Plaza $500 loss rebate program, am curious about the board's opinion for strategy. I am willing to lose the whole $500 if necessary, but of course I would rather win than have to do the rebate thing........knowing that I have a $500 bankroll, what would be your opinion on games to play and at what stakes? I like VP, and am ok with playing slots. Last trip we did the $200 loss rebate at the Trop, I managed to win $500 at VP there so a repeat downtown would sure be nice!

This is a solo trip, so I have a fair amount of time to explore around.... part of the reason for the play at the Plaza is to also seed another hotel for possible offers. We get comped rooms at CET quite easily, but those are only for for 5 nights.........we get the best rates for flights if we are gone for a week, so that will leave a couple of nights free for other hotels...we currently get some offers at a few of the Mlife properties, but those offers seems fairly random...it would be nice to have some other options as well! Any ideas as to coin in requirements to put me on their comp radar?

On another note, I read somewhere that the Plaza matches other loyalty cards, I am a Diamond at CET, anyone know to what level that would equate at the Plaza?

My personal strategy would have been to realize this existed in August...:grrr:

But I digress. Make sure you can play there 3 consecutive days! Each freeplay installment only lasts 24 hours if iirc. In the "losing" phase, if you don't care about "future offers", then I would play higher denominations and hope for a big score or losing $500 quickly. Make sure you play machines that count toward the loss rebates of course. I know their better VP doesn't allow freeplay. If future offers matter more, then have more churn during the rebate phase. However with the rebate, you'll also trigger 2 more gaming days for your trip.

If you end up losing, then I would play the VP that accepts freeplay for the highest return. Denomination is mostly personal preference. If recovery of your losses is most important to you, then play lower denominations. If you are also looking for more future offers, play through your freeplay more than once.

Guessing that would be Ace tier, their top tier.

MGM gold equates to King status so I assume Diamond would be the same but it doesn't mean very much.

I couldn't find details on the program to find out exactly how you get repaid? So you lose $500 on day 1 and then how do you receive the rebate?

Also, are there any other casinos downtown that do this? I know that Trop did but I've already used that.

The next day you get $250 in free play (can't be used on wide area progressives).
The day after that you get the next $250 in free play.

Probably. Look for the "News at the Plaza" thread and ask about it there. A plaza host (Yolla) is pretty good about answering questions like this.
