I got an offer from GG Casino 3 nights and rolling $10 free play and 1 $15 dining credit.

I booked the rooms for some friends, but it looks like no one is coming though I will keep it for now in case last minute people come.

Does anyone know if I need the room to get the $20 in free play (I arrive at end of one $10 and next day I get another $10) and dining. If so I may keep the rooms anyway since there is no resort fee. I am booked at Fremont and am going to stay there (I have $20 dining there) and I prefer the VP options at Fremont.

Unless there has been a change in the past 6 months or so, you do not need the room for free play. Both the Golden Gate and The D will give you the free play without a room.

Just to add, so will the Four Queens.
I dug up my GG offer for Nov & Dec and in the fine print it states "your free play will automatically be deposited into your account during the specified dates".

Thanks. I saw that but was not 100% sure if I was missing something.

I wouldn't mind checking out GG rooms but honestly Fremont has more of what I like.

Unless you get a suite at GG, don't bother. Tiny rooms.

Thanks I heard that as well. I did not know it was that small compared to Fremont!

They do, but waive them for comped rooms.

Any pics of the Fremont rooms? Thinking of spending a couple nights there in April just to try someplace different.

I did not take pictures of the room I am sorry.

It is small bathroom is small with a small counter over toilet but bigger than what Joe showed at gg. Clean room nice furnishings I liked the property but cal and mss have bigger rooms.

The only room that looks worthwhile staying at GG is the GG suite. Different layout but nice for a couple or solo

yeah, Fremont rooms are about 1.5 the size of GG rooms. And, you can't really control the heat/AC. When I was there the room was pretty warm and the only way to cool it was to open the windows "all the way" a whole 2". It was finally cooled off about 6am. That's why I've only stayed at The D since.
