There is no fitness center at the D. I've stayed there many times, and according to this article: http://www.oyster.com/las-vegas/hotels/the-d-las-vegas/ look at the pros and cons section.
Yes, i've googled outdated websites. I'm not 100% stupid. Theres recent yelp comments and VMB'ers have mentioned the gym.
OK, let me email my host. ------------------------------------------------------------------ My host replied rather quickly . . . OK, first, let me apologize to the OP. According to my host: "Yes. It should be on the website. We re-did the entire 12th floor. We have re-vamped most rooms and will have them all Done by year end.!"
Thanks.. I couldnt find anything on the website either. I'm also hoping guests of the GG will be able to use as well. Hopefully someone has some more information.
I asked my host and he said: "Yes. Just ask golden gate front desk procedure. If at the D you can use your room key to access."
When I was at the Golden Gate mid-October, they had a sign at check-in advertising the new Fitness Center at the D. Floor 8 I think?
thank you.. i did call and eventually find out but its good to get a confirmation. Well, people were implying i hadnt used google or researched first before posting. I was asking since I heard it was new and not yet well known. Gotta remind people of that.
My 'intentions' IS to use the fitness centers while on vacation, or at least I think about it and even pack for it. However, it usually never works out and I seem to not lift anything heavier than 12 or 16 oz. at a time....lol
When I was in college and in law school, any time I'd go on vacation, I'd always bring a couple textbooks, with the intention of getting some studying done. Never happened. Now, I always load a couple CLE videos onto my tablet, with the intention of getting through a couple credits, and pack my gym clothes, with the intention of going to the gym. Never happens.
confirmed.. 12th floor new fitness room. Also guests of the Golden Gate can use as well (just need to check in with the D's front desk)
Looks like the entire 12th floor is meeting rooms and fitness area http://www.thed.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/359272-the-D-ADV-Meetings-Capabilities-Flyer-JPG_1024x1325.pdf
Attached to the Detroit ballroom is the traverse city patio, A large covered outdoor balcony that faces south, Pretty cool area, I had no idea the D had it.
I make New Years resolutions, like a sucker, and usually break them by the 14th of January by 3 in the afternoon. Even with my natural born pollyannic tendencies I can not even slightly deceive myself into thinking I'm capable of Las Vegas workouts. You are pretty much my idol if you post even a single picture of you hitting the number 12 in the D elevator! Good luck!
