We stay exclusively on the strip, but sometimes venture downtown for an evening. Looking for recommendations on a steakhouse, preferably with an old school feel, though that's not a requirement.

Tried to make reservations for Hugo's but they are booked. Have already eaten at Andiamos and Vic & Anthony's, would like to try somewhere new.

Was thinking Oscar's or Binions, any preference between those two? Somewhere else?

We ate at Binion's Steakhouse last Thanksgiving. Impressive view, good value, not the best steak I've ever had, little too much char. Everything else was satisfactory. A friend of mine who is local has enjoyed several visits to Oscar's, but less so now that their view was wrecked.

Give Triple George a look. I'm not a foodie at all but this is my 2nd best steak place after StripSteak at MB. 2nd Street Grill in the Fremont will pleasantly surprise.

Triple George is a solid DT option. I have always found them very consistent.

I'd stop off on the way downtown at The Steakhouse at Circus Circus. Then continue downtown after.

Best steak I've had in my life (so far)

I also give a vote for Triple George. I always have a great steak meal there and it has always left me completely satisfied. Try to get a table outside so that you can do some people watching with your meal.

    Bummer regarding Hugo's.

That's my favorite steakhouse in the city & Victor is the best waiter.

I thought Oscar's was a good solid steakhouse. V&A is better but nothing wrong with Oscar's. Plus the waiter was great.

Thanks for all the replies, we have tentatively booked Binions for this coming Saturday. Going to book way ahead of time to try Hugo's on our March Madness trip. Will have to keep Triple George in mind for a future trip, based on all the recommendations here...

I am chiming in for a Triple George as well. We ate at Binions and it was quite passable, so I am sure you'll have an amazing steak dinner?

I've heard that Triple George has a really good chicken parm. Might need to try it out one time.

But, I've had both V&A and Andiamo. I like Andiamo's better, just for the feel of it. Waiters seam a lot more laid back, and like to interact with you. I'm going for meal #4 on Tuesday.

You, Garlock, are in the minority on that opinion!

I carried a Tony Roma's gift card with me on five different trips, I finally settled on a rum drink at their bar. I can highly recommend their rum!
