    My Trip Report

So last night I decided to break all my vows (AGAIN!!! :) ;) ) and made a quick 2-hour pit-stop at the good ole Rivers Casino in Des Plaines---or as I like to call it---The BIG ATM!!!!

    Pics to follow....

So decided around 6 to pop over to Rivers, rainy day, not much going on, feeling lucky (and how couldn't I be after Vegas!?!!).

Basically decided it was worth doing a "heat check". To see if I was still En Fuego.

Dropped about $400 of my $500 buy in on 3-card before things changed big time with a run of high bet straights....

Headed over to roulette and played 3 spins
On a just opened table. Not crowded enough for me to sneak pics as they were sweating me st 3-card so I didn't try at roulette. Hits were solid but not earth-shattering anyway.

First spin I hit a 2 with $25'straihjt up, lost 2nd spin, 3rd spin was a 32 with $20'straight up and a quarter split. Tots wins $2,000, net maybe $1,400.

Blew a few Hundo into hard ways on craps
    To no avail.

Then played a little VP bouncing between $2 and $5.....this came in short order after I switched to the big card loud machine I love right by the roulette tables....

    Kicked the tires on some
Triple double and had some great premium draws but only hit this....

Decided to try Ultimate X for first time
Live and had a nice early draw:

Didn't hit big but at least the 12x wasn't a total whiff...

Tried a little STP, not great...

And finally decided to survey the debauchery...

Up $4,200 net which covered wife's $3,200 shopping spree from Mall
Of America last weekend, plus $1,000 for myself to add to the Vegas budget.

Not a bad little Tuesday night! [emoji6]

You are on fire! I went to one of my locals last night too, but only ended up winning a whopping $725...lol...and that includes hitting more quads in a one hour span than I can count with both hands. I started the night in the hole from slots, then the VP dug me out.

    Keep the fire burning!

    Nice evening's work!

In terms 3-card poker I'm just learning how to play to give me an alternative when I'm not feeling Blackjack; do you stick purely to the Q-6-4 strategy or change it up depending on how you feel?

Good win. Love the pics. Just curious, how far is Rivers from civilization? Your TRs from there make me want to check it out next time I am in the area

Des Plaines is actually really close to O'Hare. It's walkable from the meeting areas in Rosemont, which I think is the overall intention. It's 8 minutes from my house, 15 in rush hour traffic. ;) From downtown its maybe a $25-$30 cab ride, or they have shuttles from the Rosemont blue line El stop. It's nothing remote like Elgin or the CET casinos.

People mostly bitch about the place, I think it is a super nice casino.....the minimums are a bit high for the area, because its a nice place and closest option for the rich northern suburbs. It's $10 and $25 tables. Roulette may be $15, no clue. VP is mostly $1/$2/$5, but they have plenty of 25 cent multiplay machines people can go 1 line on. The paytables are great---downtown Vegas level.

I have absolutely killed the place since its opened. I might have had one bad run, but easily up $35K lifetime..... all pure luck.....roulette and VP mostly, but some $3,000+ hits on Craps and 3-card. Hit & Run baby---hit and f'ing run. I have had trips where I played 10 minutes, or even just 1 roulette spin.... and haven't gone back for months. This was my first trip since August.

And NOW I'm in town...:grrr: I still have yet to go to Rivers. I really should have gone when they were offering that $500 loss rebate...

Nice hits! Watch out for that Ultimate X...quite possibly the most addicting game there is...

wow i never knew about the $500 loss rebate......not sure i could have collected though ;)

I play a ton of Ultimate X on my phone, so I know its a virtual non-starter for actual play. Can drop $5,000 on that faster than Gaggles drops to his knees on Macker's birthday! :poke:
