Riders - Vegas, Vegas..other places… my jump into STP VP (a lot of VP Porn

I will start off with this is going to be a run-on trip report of a number of trips and other casino visits. My last TR (semi-live) was in July and if you were following, it was another loser. I figured I would hold off on doing another live TR and see what happens. I still took a few pictures and that will be most of this report.

I also got hooked on STP and DSTP VP about a month ago and as you will see I have had some great luck with it and I am completely hooked.

The first part of this report will be my annual trip to CTIA in September. However, before I get to that, I have to mentioned the week before I was in south FL and had to make a stop at the Hard Rock. I generally just play some VP and table minimum MS Stud. VP wasn’t too good to me but I did hit a 4oak at MS for just over $3200. This was a needed win and my hope this luck would carry onto to Vegas. I completely forgot the pictures but I hope to make up for that.

I will get started.

 

Vegas Trip – CTIA – Planet Hollywood and Skylofts

This year, I decided I wanted to break it up a little and give CET a little play as I just made Platinum. The first night was in a PH is just a plain resort King. It was on such a low floor that I my room was level with the surf pool. It would have been better to be a couple floors higher and some better views but I didn’t spend that much time in the room. I did take a cab to PH and no tunnel and quick ride.

Went to Burgr for lunch. Sat at the back bar overlooking the kitchen. It was well run. Food was pretty good but nothing that exciting …

Went to play some MS Stud (can’t play it at MLife properties). Just played $10 level but was able to turn $200 into just over $500.








Jumped over to some crappy paytable VP but was able to squeak out a win.










That night my host (and her husband) from MGM decided to go out and grab dinner with me. We went to Tender at Luxor as I had heard some good things about it and had hit all the other a few times. I completely forget to take pictures but it was a very good meal. I was impressed for it being at Luxor.







After dinner we headed over to Mandalay Bay for a couple more drinks and listen to the regular band on the floor. It was a long day (since I just flown in that morning) so we headed back to PHO about 12. I hit the MS Studs a little more but broke even. Was just short of the 1000 TC I wanted to get so I thought I would give STP a try. No big wins and wasn’t completely sold on it but I had fun. This was the only real hit.








Hit up Earl of Sandwich for a quick breakfast sandwich. It was good but nothing I would run back to.

I had to actually head over to the Sands Convention center and get some work done. Looks like the only picture I took was as I was leaving the Venetian, had to stop by one of the bars for a drink and some VP, so this is why I left from there instead of the Sands.





Got back to MGM, got changed and head back out for the night (I was supposed to have a business dinner that night but it was cancelled) … as normal, I stop my Whisky Down for one of my favorite drinks, The Fire in the Hole. Matt was working so it was made right. 









Played some VP at the bar and no real hits. Dropped about $500. Decided to head to the LIR table and got the hardest beating of my life. Dropped $5k in what couldn’t have been more than 20 minutes. It was also no more than 20 hands and I don’t think I won more than one hand ….. after that, I decided to head to Shibuya to get something to eat ….













Started with the Toro Nigiri and Hamachi Nigiri. The Toro was very good but I still seem to like the Hamachi better… I did order another one of those.






Was still hungry and wanted some of the A5 Waygu. There was a slight mix up on how I ordered it, so they end up bringing it out twice but I only had to pay for one. First was grilled and then Nigiri









I was feeling pretty good so I decided to just head to bed … was probably close to 11 and I had a early meeting.





Quick breakfast in the Loft. I love good biscuits and gravy, so decided to give it a shot …. It was good but not great.









Headed over the Sands again ….







I was done working for the day and trip (was leaving the next day), so I was going to give it another shot at MGM. Hit up Craftsteak for dinner. Sorry, no pics but should look like all my other trips.

As usual, started at Whisky Down and only had one small VP hit ….






Headed back to the LIR tables but only bought in for $3K this time. I was already down about $6K for the trip, so I figure I would just give it a quick shot.

Was dealt a 3oak the 2nd hand in but could not come up with the fourth …. Played a couple more hands was dealt a small pair and then paired the board on the first community card … and as luck would have it, I filled in the full house for a quick $6600 win.





This put me just over even for the trip. I played a couple more hands and got up. I knew I was going to be way short of my play for the Loft but I wasn’t going to let it bother me. Went back to WD and played some more VP and a few more drinks….















Even with all the above, I still donked off about a grand. It was still early and I wanted to keep playing. Stayed away from LIR but went back to the carny games. I thought I would play some quarter UTH and bought in for a grand. It appears I had more to drink than I thought, as a couple hands in, I realized I was at the Crazy 4 table and not a UTH. Oh well, I will just play that. … lost the $1k and called it a night.

Got up early the next day and headed to the airport. All in all a good trip even if I was down, it could have been a lot worse. Did not cover the loft cost and the meals but my host took care of the meals and told me to not worry about the loft. I have plenty of trips where I didn’t use anywhere near my comps available. It is also why I continue to go back to MGM. Just great service for me.

Harrahs Philly and Windstar

I had another biz trip to the Philly area but is what just for the day with a early flight the next morning to Boston. I finished up my meetings but didn’t get back to the hotel (near airport) until about 10pm, however I found out the Harrahs was just down the street and decided to go play. I really needed to sleep as I had to be up around 4:30 but the casino was calling my name.

Hit the MS Stud table and dropped $400 fairly quickly. Decided to give some STP a try but was going to drop to quarters and play 5 –way. Had a good run of hands with even a AWK. Completely forgot to take pictures but with that session, I was up $100 for the night and had to get some sleep. I was hooked on STP VP.

The next week, I had meetings in Dallas and headed to Windstar for a few hours. Was going to play in the daily poker tourney to just kill time but missed if by the time I got through all the 35E traffic.

Since I missed the poker tournament, I hit up the bar and found a STP machine and started to play.

I hit a couple small 4oaks but then hit this.



Not huge but was one of the first 4oak with a multipliers. Then I proceeded to hit the following and was completely hooked.






After that I went one a run of 4oaks over the next couple hours. I think I counted about 28 of them. I am just going to posted the more premium ones here as I think it would get boring to look through them all. If you noticed, only the first one was with a multiplier. Was not seeing any real hits with the multiplier hitting.



























I ended up the night plus the $10K from the royal. Had the long drive back but was ready for Vegas in a couple weeks.

 

44 hours in Vegas ….

Once again, I was back in Vegas for business. This was a quick trip, from landing to take off it was less than 48 hours. I also had my fair share of meetings, so I wasn’t sure how much play I was going to be able to get in. I was sitting at about 11,000 TC and wanted to just get to Diamond. I figured a couple days of 1000 TC would make that happen. I was staying at the Rio as that was where the show was, so it would work.

Took a cab from the airport and without notice I ended up getting tunneled. I quickly asked the cabbie why, and was given some excuse as it would be faster. I said it might but it would definitely be more. She made a couple more excuses but I just stopped talking … as soon as we got close to the Rio she turned off the meter and said something about not wanting to argue about the fare. I was going to pay what was fair anyway .. I even tried to tip her just to be nice and she wouldn’t take it… it almost felt like she had some previous trouble with fares and maybe the taxi cab authority ….. just weird but I was at the Rio by 10:30. Tried to get checked in but it was early and they didn’t have a room ready. Figured I could kill some time on VP. It took me some time to find the handful of bartops that had STP and DSTP. Once I found them, I decided to start with DSTP on a 5-play machine. A few hands in I hit the following and was completely hooked on DSTP VP.








I got paid and played a few more hands but by this time, my room was ready and went to get the keys and head up.

Got through a number of meetings for the day and headed back to the same 2 bar tops and started playing again. This time I moved it up 10-play and started to get a few good hands but realized I needed a lot more when running at 17.50 a pull. I had a bunch of 4oaks (just over 125 of them) over the next 40 hours or so but I am going to just post my favorites but happy to post the others if you don’t believe me.

As I mentioned before, I just wanted to get 1000 TC, however I quickly passed that and was close to getting 5000 TC, so I went for it and had all 5000TC by about midnight. I had made Diamond and some. When I checked with the desk the next morning, I had about 26,000 TC. I didn’t figure I would be able to play much the next day so that was good but I did know that another 5000 TC day would put me at DAL 1.

This was as close as I came to the dealt Royal …. Definitely kept me wanting more.








Now that I have completely bored you with some of the 4oaks I hit, I will wrap up with the following. So, with all the play, I had about 3700 TC the last day but I was so tired, I had to call it a night about 2am. I had a 7am flight, so I figured I would get a couple hours sleep and get up at 4am and see if I could get the last 1300 TC. Got up, headed back to my machine. Started playing as fast as I could .I was closing in on the TC I wanted, and hit the following. I had to start playing on another machine while waiting to get played but it looked like I would hit the 5000 by 6am. Just confirmed today that I am now sitting about 41K TC and DAL 1. Did just over 30K TC in those 44 hours. Just a clarification, I played for just over 10k in TC but with the daily bonuses, i earned just over 30k TC. I think that is about 100k in coin in.





At that point (even with all the smaller hits and handpays) was down about $1000. With the above handpay, I ended up leaving vegas positive just over $5K. This was my first winning trip in a long time. Found a cab and rushed off to the Airport.

 

Wow! Tons of volume here! Jordan will be jealous!

And all of these 10-play DSTP were at Rio bartops? Which bar if you remember? I'm not sure if any of the Strip CET properties still have 8/5 DDB at DSTP at their bartops. Last time I looked, I thought all DSTP at CET strip bars were 7/5 DDB.

Thanks and yes, all of these were on bartops, actually, all of them were on the same 2 machines. I believe the bar at the Rio was called Shutters. It is the bar that sits right in front of the high limit tables. The end closest to the high limit slots is where I was playing. They have 6 of the All Star machines scattered throughout the bar in pairs. All the rest are game kings.
