We are going back to MSS in December. Got the mailer for 2 free nights and $25 rooms at MSS and $25 rooms at Cal and Fremont. I presume MSS is my home casino since we singed up there. Planned to split 7-8 days between MSS and a few at Cal to try it out. Wife really liked MSS and have heard Cal also has the in room mini fridge we both like(hate having to walk for ice for my beer and her soda). Plus she liked finding me easily on casino floor LOL. Question is: I know my total points will count at all Boyds, but for future offers should I concentrate most of my play at MSS or by seeding Cal and going to Sams Town and playing help for future comps for them. Did stay and play at Fremont last trip and got nothing from them.

Your play at MSS and Cal deterimes your offers for those casinos.
    Sams Town is separate.

So, if you want to stay @ MSS and get offers, concentrate there.

But if I stay at Cal should I walk over to MSS and play or will my gambling at Cal get me any offers for Cal. MSS is my base casino.

MSS and CAL reservation system are tied together, you may not be able to do back-to-back resv's between the two.
I know I can do MSS and then GC, because GC/Orleans has a totally separate reservation system.

I only play at Cal once in a blue moon, MSS is my home casino, and I never get anything from Cal.
Even though many of the offers are co-joined.

I think if you continue to play @ Cal, you might get offers.

Basically, where you play MOST, should be your home casino.

You might want to check with a host.

Your gambling at Cal will apply towards your offers at MSS. No need to walk over if you don't want to. But gambling at Cal will not increase your offers there if MSS is your home casino.

Sam's is really generous with offers! An afternoon/evening of play there should give you 2-3 free nights in the future. There is a free shuttle between downtown and Sam's, so easy to hop on that one, gamble a free hours and shuttle back to downtown.

    Have a great time!

It was my understanding that they are all Boyd properties and one card system. The card website is like ala carte shopping. https://www.bconnectedonline.com/

We play at the MSS one morning a year and get 2 night offers year round. Not free at other Boyd properties but heavily discounted. A phone call might make them free!?!

I'm not sure if they are on the same system when it comes to comp reservations. I currently have a 2 night comp at Main Street Station and a 2 night comp at Gold coast. Both are for 10/11-13 (in case the Stratosphere or Tuscany Suites don't work out for some family members...have MSS and GC as back ups). Had both hotels been in the same system then there is no way that I could double book comps at the same hotels for the same nights!

As someone else mentioned, the downtown hotels are hooked up together into one system but they aren't connected with the other boyd hotels (gc, Orleans, sams) so they don't check for overlapping comps if you alternate between downtown and the other boyd hotels. I tried to do a comp between the Cal and MSS and wasn't allowed to do that a few years ago.

Miraculously I just received a 4 night comp stay at MSS (MSS is my home casino) for Dec 1 - 29. I normally don't get any comps based on my small play at the tables but my last August/Sept trip I did well with a good roll and some decent play (also got a number of comped buffets) so guess I entered their radar again. the offer says that 72 hours required between all promotional stays at MSS, Cal and Fremont, back to back comp stays downtown are prohibited.

In March I played at Sam's town and I started to get comp nights there the next month. I haven't gotten any in the last month or two but I was regularly getting comp offers every 2 months. I played at the Orleans and get some email offers for tourneys but no comp nights ($99 for 3 nights), guess I didn't play big enough to warrant comps from them.

Boyd is somewhat strange in the way the offer comp nights. I gave Gold Coast/Orleans way more action than MSS over the years however MSS and Cal always seem to have com rooms more often. Orleans in 2 nights every 3 months with $10.00 in food. MSS offers 2 nights every month (used to add $25.00 in food too). Gold Coast is 2 nights (Sun-Thurs) every 2 months. Orleans is 2 nights and 10.00 every 4 months. Sometimes i think that Boyd (and others aside from CET) see that you are gonna play at their casinos not matter what so there is less incentive to give you something weekly/monthly, if you are gonna come and play regardless. I'm sure that Boyd realizes that I come from 2/3 times a year to stay play at their place and gamble. I really like the atmosphere of Orleans , Gold Coast and Main street (to a lesser degree Sams town and Suncoast). I'll be checking into Orleans this Weds for my 2 nights and eats. Then moving to Paris for 5 nights.

I have noticed that when i slow down with a certain property i.e. Stations, that the offers seem to increase briefly and then dissipate. Gave PS very little play because my host left (Liesa Wells, and the new folks disregarded me. Stopped in for a couple of hours during the Mayweather/Pacman fight weekend and gave them some good play for a couple of hours. Now Palace Station and Red Rock are sending me free room offers often (with PS sending tourney after tourney to boot)!

I get 4 nights, FP and food offers from MSS, every month.
2 nights, FP, and food from GC, but I can get more nights from my host.
2 nights and FP from Orleans.
Also, mailers for just about every tournament offer from all 3 casinos.

And yes, downtown casinos on one reservations system, GC/Orleans on another.
I've stayed MSS for 3 or 4, GC for 2-3, then back at MSS for more nights, in one trip.

My Boyd play is confined to MSS & Cal. My play doesn't change, but this entire year my monthly offers vary quite a bit. My latest Dec offer has no FP and only 3 nights comped. $40 in food credits. My norm used to be 4 nights & $75 FP and I still got that for Oct.

Now here is where having a host comes in. I know there are several on VMB who say they just book the mailer. I book through my host and for Dec we have 5 nights, Gold Card & limo to and from the airport.

I have no idea why this changes. Our coin-in per trips is 10-15,000 per day. Some days maybe a little under 10k, other days maybe over 15k, but I would say our daily average is 12k. If there is family in town, then our play drops a bit. No family or friends, then it goes up.

This is pretty much what we do. The offers are $25 or $35 free play. I don't care about the room nights or food with the offer as my host sets us up with gold cards and limo. The only thing I'd like to see is more free play - that... I could use.

I think QQ is going to switch her home property to MSS. I'll have mine set to the Cal, same as now. When at MSS, we'll play on her card, at the Cal, we'll play on mine. Maybe that will double our freeplay.

I can stay a week totally on Boyd comps now every month if I wanted to. I want to... but I can't afford to fly over to the US every month ;)

For example; in december we could stay 3 nights at Sam's (10 FP), 2 at Orleans (25 food and 25 fp) and 2 at Suncoast (50 FP and 20 food).

We will be at Sam's december 24-27, suncoast 27-29 and try something new for the last two days of our vacation: aliante! We love the off strip casino's ;)

Aliante is a very nice place, but be aware it is in the middle of nowhere. No other casinos around that area.

Ditto to what Joe said. It is a very nice hotel although the rooms are rather smallish. Stayed there years ago when it was a station casino. It was built during the housing boom (short lived) in Vegas. The boom stopped quickly (record foreclosure in Vegas 4/5 years ago). and Aliante was left literally in the dessert to fend for it self! Locals in that area swear by it though. It is truly in the middle of nowhere!! I do agree that the off strip casinos are much more player friendly.

I too always rent a car. leaving today at 4 p.m from Buffalo for a week in Vegas. Dollar car rent 193.37 including taxes and fees for 1 week. Cant beat it!!

Not that you need it but a city bus, stops on the street in front of the casino.

    That's a great rate!!
I'm getting around 350 now for a week, so I'll wait a little longer to book the car.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll take a look on Google streetview, I'm extremely curious about the place now ;)

Oh, and have lots of fun of course :D

Just to add that if you are golfer, Aliante course is just across the street. Easy walk from the hotel with clubs slung over the shoulder. No car needed.
