    Hey All,

We just started returning to Vegas after a few years away. We have mostly stayed and played at Boyd (MSS, Orleans) and Stations and have rarely played at CET properties. After seeing so many on here say how easy CET room comps are, I wanted to inquire with all you CET experts, what sort of play (coin-in) is required for room comps/marketing offers? Any ideas?

I understand (from what I've read on here) that while they CET might be easy room comps, they are harder with the FB and FP. That's ok as our play wouldn't likely warrant that anyway, so we're ok with paying our way on that end.

I play mostly VP and BJ (wife plays a little slots) and I know the gaming isn't as good on the strip, but we might be willing to give up a little EV to change things up once in a while if we can get any offers.

Also, which CET properties would be the easiest to receive marketing offers from? If we played through $100 on a slot, would that get us on any radars? I know it's tough to say because the $100 could be $100 coin-in or $10,000... just a guesstimate would be helpful. And what sort of play would be required to keep the marketing offers coming? (Again, the smaller couple free nights type, not a 4+ nights with FP or anything).

We're just feeling out what the options might be, if any.

Thanks for any insights and advice!

Focus on ADT, not loss. At your level, ADT would be what it is all about.

$100 through once would be about 20TC, which wouldn't be a blink on the CET radar screen.

I am 7* now, but started at 0 in 2015. I've looked back at my records and I had about 687 TC ( which probably means 500TC plus the 125TC bonus) in January and started getting offers at that time.

I'd say at least 400TC in one gambling day. Remember that you need to keep the play "up across multiple days. 3 days of 400TC - 0 - 0, would equal and average of 133 TC per days, which wouldn't amount to much.

With CET, it does not matter much where you play.

The first place you will see comps as a low roller is in the rate calendar. Put in your TR # and password, and select Vegas as a destination and flexible dates and look around. If you've given them really any play at all you should at least be seeing some Sun-Thurs nights show as comp at one of Rio/Harrah's/Flamingo/Bally's/Linq. They are all at about a similar pricing level.

Get much higher and you'll start to see weekends plus comps at the other ones. Without a couple weeks of your travel dates you may even see Caesars,

I have seen calendar comps when the only thing in my recent history was poker play. Also, you can also put in a "companion" TR # and it may make more nights comp. For my January trip with a buddy, he signed up for a TR number online (has zero play history), and putting that in as companion number STILL improved my rates and got me some more comps.

NOTE: For these comps you still need to pay the resort fee.

The offers you tend to get at the lower end won't be that exciting. Maybe invites to slot/VP tourneys including your stay at a lower end prop (that you could get comped anyway). I think you'd need to be a fairly dedicated slot player to see significant free play, and I've never gotten a FB offer.

Oh, and the best part about the comps being in the calendar instead of an offer is that you are not limited in # of nights. So even at that bare minimum level with CET you could get up to 5 consecutive nights comped.

Do you both have Total Reward cards? We were in Vegas in June, stayed at the Bellagio and did most of our gambling at Mlife casinos.....we did stop in and sign up for the total Rewards cards and played a bit, not much at all really, at Caesars............yet on the TR website we were able to get comped 5 nights at Paris coming up in October, this may very well be a teaser deal, but what the hell, right? If you have the TR cards, sign up on their website, check the calendar and see what they will give you. A companion number will also give you better prices on the calendar. Remember these are not offers, no free plays or food, the calendar is strictly for rooms. We plan on giving CET more play this time around and see what happens. Good luck!

Its not a teaser. Think of it like the CET version of priceline. There is a bottom line below which they do not want to advertise hotel rates to anyone, but if they don't have enough bookings, they will happily put up just about anyone and with the resort fee, essentially cover their costs. Anything they win off you is a bonus. CET has a lot of room inventory and weeknights in Vegas have very soft demand.

Decided to give you some screen shots of the rate calendar so that you can know what to expect.

The following 3 pictures are all of the rate calendar in the first half of October (which is actually a pretty popular / busy time as it is still pool weather without being so absurdly hot). In January I have 5 comp nights booked between CES and AVN, including a weekend.

Ok, so for reference, here is what the calendar looks like to the public (no players' card number):

    October no card.jpg

Now, bear in mind that I currently have about 680 tier credits, and 100 of those were a bonus to start the year. I have not been to Vegas this year (one 2 night stay at Caesars windsor, say 8 hours of poker and one hour $25 blackjack). Was in Vegas last in Sep 2014, 2 free nights at Caesars, couple hours poker, 1 hour blackjack. I have never even made it halfway to platinum.

Here is what the same dates look like with my number entered:

    Oct with players card.jpg

As you can see, on some busy nights I get no discount at all, but a number of nights come up COMP for me, nights that were priced up to $170/night (but usually more ones in the 40-80 range).

Now here is what happens when I add a TR # with zero play history as a companion:

    October 2 cards.jpg

As you see, a few more nights come up comped and many more get further discounted.

Thus if you want to dabble with the idea of CET, I'd see go to whichever prop you want (does not matter), play however you want, then log in and check the calendar, first individually with the cards, then with both cards together.

PS> The nights that say OPTIONS usually mean you can't book that night at all unless you also stay the previous night. It can also mean sold out, or the base room is sold out.

If you are new members, $100 cycled through may trigger something at the low end hotels for their slower times, no matter if you are playing at Harrahs or Caesars. If they track you for a lower hotel but you play at the higher end, you will get a reduced rate for that hotel even if you don't warrant a comp. If you are existing members, your older visits may impact this one. However, because of resort fees, a comp at a Boyd hotel ends up being a better deal. I would suggest giving them an afternoon and letting it go. You will get something for your trouble but it may take more time and money than you are willing to give to definitely get something.

What CET normally offers and FIRST TIME players are two different things. They often give teaser offers to first time visitor. A few hundred might even get their attention. After that, it is tied to play.

400TC? That's about $2k coin-in? Not bad. We'd only be playing one day to see what comes of it, so it would be a one day average. Thanks DL

This is ALL great info Nevyn! Thanks so much for the pics and all the detailed info! VERY helpful!

We both have TR cards, but haven't played on them in many years -- maybe 6 or 7. I didn't know we could link them (companion number). Good to know. Thanks!

We're technically not new members, but without any play or visits in 6 or 7 years, maybe we will be considered that? Yes, we're happy with Boyd but perhaps a scenery change once in a while might be nice so we're just feeling out seeding a little at CET to see if that might get us a couple free nights. We actually prefer the slower times (off season, weekdays) so perhaps it will work out. Thanks!

Thanks for the info nostress. We'll drop a couple hundy and see where it leads.

Perfect. We like off-strip-y places, so Rio is right up our alley. Thanks PP

I think Rio is the easiest place to get a comp room unless they have a big event there (such as WSOP).

Do you know what Social Rewards is? It's similar to MiLife, only Caesars.
You can join SR free online to enhance your Total Rewards card. Social Rewards gives you Rewards Credits that go onto your TR card. You can use your RC to help pay off your resort fee, dining, shows, etc.
When i go back to Vegas in November, my resort fee will be paid off.
The great thing is you use Total Rewards in Vegas, but also rack up rewards points at home.

If you are considering doing 400 points per day on your tier score, also consider doing 500 points instead, if your bankroll can tolerate that. At 500 tier points, CET adds 125 tier points, for a total of 625 tier points, for that day. If you Play 1000 points, CET adds another 1000 points, for a total of 2000 for the day. This gets you to Platinum, Diamond, or Seven Stars status much faster.

Keep in mind though, 500 points can feel like a LOT of play. Do it only if you would play at that level anyway.

Yes, we signed up for Social Rewards and in just a few weeks were able to get 2,000 RC's already. We also signed up for the TR Visa and will be earning RC's that way too. Thanks for the suggestion waverunner. :)

Thanks JeJas. Rio would be perfect to add to the rotation I think, if we can get a free/highly discounted room rate (off times).

Not sure how many TC's we'll earn, but we'll give them a little play and see what comes of it and if it's worth dedicating more play there. Thanks!

Wow! Thanks for the info PP. Good to know. Are the rooms shabby at the Rio these days or have they been renovated at all? Years back I heard they were pretty worn out.

All good PP. We're not "beggars" per se (we're just super cheap - haha!) but I get your meaning. Free is free. :)
