    My Trip Report

So I wasn’t planning to write a TR, but now I am back home and presented with the following options: catch up on work, do some house cleaning, or write a TR while watching a Bob’s Burgers rerun. Writing a TR is definitely my best option!
This trip was a two night quickie to the Cosmo. I am back there in two weeks, so I did not want to overdo it this trip. Decided not to write the typical chronological TR. Instead, I am organizing the trip by categories, so you can read what you like ….

COSMO: Cosmo is Cosmo. There are enough TRs right now with pics of the hotel, so I don’t think anyone needs to see more pics of one of the suites. Actually, I was originally staying at CP this trip with two friends, but they cancelled on me last week. So I called my Cosmo host last minute and she said she would hook me up with whatever room I wanted. Told her it did not matter as long as the room was quiet and on a high floor. So she gave me a wraparound suite at the end of the hall in the west tower. It was perfect! Never heard anything from neighbors and very little noise from the Strip. Had a decent view from the balcony. I will see if any of the pics I took form there are worth posting.

Couple other things my host told me about changes at Cosmo. Along with renovating the Book and Stage space, they are also adding a new high limit slot area and replacing the slots in the high limit with more BJ and Bac tables. The retail store between Talon and Chandilier on the second floor was also boarded up. The host told me they are expanding the Talon room! I was stunned, because it is never busy. But apparently the casino is making more money and they have a lot of upcoming booked trips from their bigger players. I kind of like Talon the way it is now, but obviously this news is good for higher limit players because it means they Cosmo is getting a positive response to the casino changes they initiated in the past year.

SPORTS: Excellent trip on the sports betting front! I won over $2k on MNF with three bets (the under and two props) based on the assumption that the game would be low scoring. Lost a couple bucks on baseball last night. But I still had plenty left over to make a lot of wagers on this week’s NFL action. I am not a fan of CG books, and especially not a fan of their book at the Cosmo. My host told me they are planning to renovate and possibly expand the book (since Book and Stage closed). Not sure it will make a big difference though. The book was dead every time I went in there.

PARIS: I took advantage of my CET Diamond status and got a free ticket for the Eiffel Tower experience. The experience was worth it for the low, low price of free. Not sure its worth much more than that. But it was a fun, short distraction. And the view of the Bellagio lake is terrific.

FOOD: I hit up my usual Cosmo favorites. Blue Ribbon was fantastic as always. Holsteins and Wicked Spoon were good as well.

I had lunch one day at Milos. Before lunch, I ran into a Vegas friend (who is a real party girl) in the casino. She had stayed up late the night before partying, and was clearly still drunk and gambling (poorly …… like splitting sixes against a dealer ten poorly!!). I convinced her to take a break from losing her money and come eat lunch with me (hoping she would sober up and then go sleep). As we walked out of Milos, we passed a young Asian guy that I had played BJ with in the Talon room that morning and I saw him looking my friend up and down. An hour later, I saw him in the Talon room again. As soon as I sat down at the table, he clumsily injected into the conversation that he was recently divorced. A minute later, he asked if my friend was my wife. I chuckled and said no (it was a funny question because she is a lot younger than me and way out of the league of a middle aged guy). He then asked if she had a boyfriend. When I told him I did not think so, he almost leapt across the table asking for her number! I warned him that she is a party girl and that if he wanted me to, I would pass his number onto her. He gave me his name and number to pass along and then told me to let her know that he was up $113k at the tables, lol. I just shook my head and passed his number along last night. My friend laughed when I told her the part about how much he was up. I encouraged her to finance her blackjack habit, lol. The whole situation was pretty ridiculous.

GAMBLING: Saved the best for last. Ended up being a tremendous trip. Earlier this summer, I decided to adopt the hit and run as my go to strategy. In the past, I have used hit and runs to chase my losses and try to catch up (usually, but not always, with good success). Since that approach has worked well for me many times, I realized I should always employ quick, hit and run sessions. I know hit and runs do not change the odds for me, but it does help me spend less time at the table and bank solid wins.
I sat down at most tables betting purple chips and if things went poorly, I would up the bets to yellow chips. I played a lot of BJ sessions, a few craps sessions, and one fantastic half hour at roulette. At BJ, twice I lost $10k betting purple chips, but both times I got those losses back immediately when I moved up to betting yellow chips. My largest bet was only $3k and my smallest was $200. Best of all, I hit one roulette spin for over $5k! I will post a pic of that hit next.

Once I hit the roulette spin yesterday afternoon, I decided it was time to stop, enjoy the spa and dinner, and then headed home early this morning. All told, I finished the trip up just over $51k!! Headed back to Cosmo in two weeks and then a longer bday trip in later October. Feels good to know I have a solid bankroll for those two trips! Hope you enjoyed the TR

The next time you're in Talon and Alex is working behind the bar, ask him for a donkey punch. I'm sure Adina could make something as lethal.

I jumped up form the table. Hit that wager several times before, and it is still a thrill every time

I first read the title as "Taking Home Some Promo Cash". The amount you're taking home is a lot more than "promo" though!!! Nice run and pics!

I spent most of Monday night watching the football game and then crashing in my room. The Asian kid was the only other player I saw in the Talon room Monday morning and afternoon. I tried to keep a particular eye out for other VMB wrist bands, but didn't see any. Sorry I missed you all

One tidbit I left out of the TR ... I walked down to the bazzar Shops at Ballys. What an absolute disappointment. I did not know what to expect, but it felt like I was walking through an endless series of mall kiosks. Felt like half the stalls were not occupied. Total disaster. I cannot imagine ever going back there.

But I will give Ballys credit for improving the casino floor. I had not walked through there in, probably, two years. They have made a good effort to clean and freshen it up

Very happy to hear you are on a positive streak! Hope it continues on!! I'm thinking of spending some time at roulette again, after seeing your great hit!

And about the Ballys kiosks....what a mistake in my opinion.

Congratulations! I agree with your assessment of the Bazaar shops area. Even my wife said that the old out-of-order people-movers there were more exciting than the shopping options now!
