MGM has always been my go to property, and I've been volleying between both MGM and Tropicana. MGM's offers aren't great (and I HATE the 6:5 shit they put in) but it's a nice property, and I like the vibe in the HL room. I also go around town just to collect offers and establish myself. An SLS host sent me out an email the other day (I'm assuming to drum up business) for:

4 complimentary nights in a suite
    $500 in F&B
    $775 in Freebet

I told my hosts at both MGM and Tropicana about the offer so I could double dip. My MGM host obviously told me he can't match it, but can give me a free comped nights with some food; big deal.

My host at Tropicana got it ok'ed to match the offer from his boss. I was really impressed and shocked. My host at Tropicana is really great, especially when things like this arise. If anyone needs an offer matched, or a good host to go to at Tropicana let me know. The property can be dreary at times, but I like the not so snooty atmosphere if I just want to play.

Is it Jarrod? IMO he is the best host at the Trop. Took care of everything i needed. Sadly I had zero luck on their slots and dropped a couple grand the 1st night with really not much play thru. But he understood why my coin was so low when he saw my actual loss and was cool about it.

I had a great room but it felt more like I was gambling at a locals casino back home. The casino was small, the food options and shopping limited and the place has no "wow" factor. Unlike the MGM next door. So I guess it all depends on what you expect from your vaca.

For what its worth I stayed at the SLS on a great host upfront offer and felt the same way as the Trop. But i likes me a great Vegas Spectacle like CP, Paris, Bellagio and such VS the smaller boutique style offerings even with a better comp.

I got an offer in the mail the other day for 2 free mid-week nights at the Bellagio with a $75 resort credit. The strange thing is that I'm strictly a CET girl and almost never play at MLife casinos and I'm pretty sure the only gambling I've ever done at the Bellagio was $20 in a slot machine on our first ever trip to Vegas in 2009.

I'm sure we all have our opinion about the best host at Tropicana, so I'll add mine!

Rick Funke is the best host at Tropicana! He was the best host at Silverton for many years, too.

I don't want to say who my host is publicly, and inundate his contact info. All I can say is my host there has gone above and beyond for me many times over. Someone mentioned about the casino atmosphere- sure it's dreary at times, but I have excellent luck there on their video poker. Bonus poker has the best payouts for the strip. Also, I find the low-key atmosphere relaxing at times when I just want to play.

If they would have kept their UTH machine, I'd of kept playing there...
Wife and I stayed one, in the "Club" tower, in 2013; never again...SUUHCH a hike to get to your room from the casino or entrance...no food choices really either.
Not to bash; but Jarrod Kessleman took care of us too
