Hi - I'll be staying at Aria for the first time next month. People really seem to like that hotel. They say the name of the hotel with a smile on their face. Aria was built in 2009. Why do people like Aria so much even when there are several newer hotels on the strip? http://www.lavishvegas.com/resort_review/new_hotels.htm

    Newer isn't always better.

There are no newer 5 star hotels on the strip.

The mansion was built in 2001 and is still the best place to stay by far.

The newest places at the higher end are boutique hotels which cater to niche markets. Aria and Cosmo are the last top tier full service resorts to open and Cosmo had just enough bad WOM to keep it from having the same number of admirers.

I like it because it has the best spa on the Strip, many excellent dining options, large and comfortable high limit rooms, a good pool deck, lots of natural light, a good hotel gym, and comfy furnishings in the rooms

Newer? Aria is one of the newest.. and the ones newer than that aren't that exciting.. SLS? Cromwell?

I like being at Aria, their rooms aren't knock your socks off fancy, but it's great service, great spa, great dining, great casino. It's just nice being there. Also the price is really fair I think. It's just a really well done property.

Agreed. I also think that Aria's dining is really where it shines. It's one of the few resorts that has numerous dining options during the day -- Julian Serrano, Lemongrass, Five50, and Javier's all open around 11am, as do a number of the Crystals restaurants, plus you have Bardot's brunch on the weekends. I also think their bartenders are some of the best in the city, and when you combine that with 9/5 JoB at Lift Bar and generally great craps and blackjack crews, it's a very nice place to gamble as long as you're not looking for $5/$10 blackjack and nickle/quarter VP. I personally think the casino is beautiful (though not everyone likes the slightly-darker spaces like I do), and they have my favorite beds in Vegas.

I love the location, the vibe of the casino as well as the great variety of slots, love the spa, love the pools, loved my corner suite (good size, nice views, super comfy bed) and love the overall service there.

Except for Cosmo, those hotels are not newer; they are renovations of older hotels along with a name change. Between the out of the way location and the higher prices, Aria does a nice job of catering their demographic.

From my experience, they have turned Aria into one of the best places from a service perspective. IMHO, the difference between the worst and best hotel really lies in how people treat you, how the maids clean the rooms, how the bell desk gets your bags up to your room.

My last stay at Aria was in a suite. First, when I called for my bags, they were up in less than 10 minutes. Second, the turn down service was awesome. Even my cell phone charging cable was carefully coiled. They did things right.

Room quality is about service. They get it.

I love the restaurants, spa and mattress's (ordered and have one). It's a beautiful property but the gambling sucks for me there. Don't let this discourage you, it's a fun property with their bars etc. I would just rather the wynn, mgm or Mandalay Bay.

I never stayed at Aria, or went to the spa, or pool. I ate at the buffet once (lunch) and gambled on a couple occasions for a few hours at a time. To me, Aria is a casino in a never-ending search for a theme or identity. You can stand in one spot, any spot you chose, and just look around. Hardly anything goes together. It seems that Aria hired a dozen different decorators who hated each other to design the layout.

    That said, it aiight.

There are still some other places I want to stay at, but so far Aria is just right for me. I enjoy the rooms, dining, casino, etc. I also like that it doesn't get as much foot traffic compared to places like MGM and Bellagio.

We've stayed at the Aria a couple times. Our gambling leads to offers for a couple of nights, at most. There are a few things...

--My wife likes the gym. Attendants are wonderful and it is well-equipped.
--My wife likes to the pool.
--My wife likes drink service in glasses. Not exclusive there, of course, but it is something she likes.
--My wife thinks that they provide good service without the attitude of the Encore...she found their help a little "snooty" for her taste.

There you have it. It is pretty easy to see why we always at least consider Aria. I've never had those two maids in the commercial; that would make it my choice 100% of the time! Seriously, though, it is our favorite place to stay. Her liking it is huge. My liking it? Doesn't matter so much; I can stay anywhere and be comfortable.

My wife is no diva--she actually enjoyed staying in a vintage room at El Cortez...but we just don't seem to win there even with their loose slots and all...

thanks everyone. I see why people like Aria so much. I may try cosmo next time for comparison but aria/cosmo seem to be the best hotels for a basic room in Vegas for bragging rights.

Last year was our first trip ever to Vegas and we stayed at the Aria on the advice of a friend who did a work conference there a couple of months earlier.
We are just normal slobs that don't gamble a whole lot but did end up playing a bit of slots.

We were taken back by the hospitality of the staff especially a waitress on the floor who took a bit of time and explained how the gambling/drinks etc work.
The pool area is very nice and the buffet was pretty good.

One of the biggest pluses was the room itself. Just the normal run of the mill room and we thought it was fantastic. The bathroom especially. At the end of the day of hiking around it was nice to put some tunes on, grab some drinks and soak in the tub and shower area before going back out again for the night.

My only gripe was a the price of a breakfast in one of the restaurants. Eggs, bacon and bread can only be worth so much. I thought they nipped up a little too much for that.

Ive made the Aria my home base now after the last 5 years of visiting nearly twice a year
Have stayed at the Encore, Wynn, NYNY, Cosmo, IP in my time but Aria IMO is the BEST :blowkiss: Wynn / Cosmo close second

I like the modern feel of the casino. The basic rooms are very nice. The staff is always nice. I also like how there isn't the massive foot traffic like MGM and Bellagio. Casino has a good mix of slots and good service and drinks.
