    Hi all,

We love Vegas and are heading out next Saturday for one comped night at Paris and then moving over to Caesars for two comped nights. We have been loyal CET players for years and years but we only go one four day weekend every fall. I'm not complaining about getting my rooms comped by any means and a stay at Paris or Caesars is a nice stay to me. But, we are getting restless. I know M-Life doesn't give you near as good offers and I do get some emails from them with $70 per night at MGM or one of their resorts and I haven't even played there for years but I always read on here that they are stingy compared to CET.

A few years ago, I went on a roll at Venetian on some slots and racked up enough points that we got comped rooms there the following year but we typically gamble at CET so we can continue to get comped rooms.

I'm wondering if there are other resorts that we could start playing at that would give us free nights so we can make a change? What are your thoughts on this? We were going to head over to Holstein's one night at Cosmo and consider playing there. We have never been. IS that just one hotel that is not part of a larger group? Do any of you stay at Venetian/Palazzo? How about Wynn/Encore? I don't know that we would spend enough to ever get anything there.

Just wondering what you all do and where you are loyal to.

    Thanks!!!

It all depends on your level of play. If you're not getting much in the way of offers from MGM, I doubt you will get anything better from Wynn. My experience with V/P is more limited. You might get a teaser offer, at the least. If the main goal is free rooms, you may want to try somewhere like Hooters or Stratosphere . I have given them very, very little play over the years, but still get free room offers because they are desperate.

If you want free rooms somewhere nicer, sounds like you may want to stick with CET.

If you play slots, The Cosmo is an option. After stopping in there once 3 years ago and giving them some decent play, I receive great offers all the time for Free Play, Show Tickets and Rooms. Just a few months ago, they even assigned me a host.

No, Stratosphere and Hooters is not our style. I am mid-40's husband is mid 50's. We want on the strip in a nice hotel. Cosmo may be an option. I do play slots. Well, I start with slots and if I'm getting eaten alive, I play three card poker. Husband plays cards. But I'm worried Cosmo is too cool and young for us. That's why I was asking. We aren't high rollers but we have a nice budget per day. Not sure if we should bother with M-Life. Is Bellagio part of them? Mirage is nice right? I have never even stayed in one of their hotels.

My understanding is that Cosmo will rate your table play, but you don't earn any sort of reward credits. You'll only earn reward credits for slot play. Mlife doesn't rate lower level play at their tables (from what I've seen....other may have been able to get rated at a $10 or $15 table

Maybe if you say what your bank roll/play/theo is like, people can give you better info.

I like the Cosmo, we are 50. I don't party or anything like that and don't feel out of place. The cocktail service is great and staff have always been friendly. The rooms are also great. I usually get 2 comp nights and generally stay 2nights at Cosmo and 2 at Sam's Town. Strange combination but works for us.

Can't really give you any useful advice without more detail. "Aren't high rollers but have a nice budget per day" isn't really saying anything. Some people would consider $500 a nice budget, others would say $5000.

Aria and Bellagio are the top of the Mlife food chain, unless you are playing black chips or higher, I wouldn't think you would get much there. If you are more the green chip type of players, maybe try one of their mid level props. Read up on mirage, mgm, and Mandalay, see which one sounds best to you, and give them a day or two of solid play. Hopefully you will get some decent offers thrown your way.

If you share more about daily bankroll, avg bet size, type of game (you just said "cards" for your husband), some of the Mlife regulars will be able to give you better advice. I myself am also a CET player. At this point in time, what they offer suits me well. Perhaps I too will look into MGM at some point in the future.

Yeah, it is tough to judge because the bar for CET comps starts so low. Some people (ME!) who get CET comps could never get a whiff from another strip property. But others could get comps just about anywhere, and might actually be getting a worse deal at CET

Our bankroll is not high. $500-600 per day each. But, of course, if I'm doing well on slots, it's much more coin in than that. He plays blackjack mostly but some weird games like Caribbean and Texas Hold'em. His bets go up based on how he's doing but he's not a black chipper by any means. He rarely gets anything free but if I add his card to mine when I'm booking, I sometimes get an extra comped night out of it or move up to Caesars from Paris like I did this year. We are happy with what we get at CET for what we gamble but would like to maybe shift our play somewhere else. Sounds like Cosmo might be a good bet but then you are playing all of your play there.

I like that at CET, we can play at any property and it counts under the one big umbrella. From what I have read, it sounds like MGM properties don't count what you played at one, at another but that might not be correct either. I have not stepped foot into a MGM property in years yet I am getting emails with teasers from them. I think I signed up for those somehow but if I'm getting offers of $70 per night at MGM plus up to X dollars of credit, maybe we try at M-Life this year. We like to move around casinos if we aren't playing well at one, but we always have played at CET and move from one to the other like I said. Thanks for the input so far!

You probably want to stick with CET. You want to stay at the nicer properties, but you also want it comped, but while low rolling (for the most part). I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but you simply are unlikely to get free room offers at the nicer MGM properties, Wynn, or V/P. I think Cosmo has gotten a bit more generous with the comps under new management, but it used to be pretty difficult to get a comped room as a low roller.

Bellagio and Mirage are part of the MGM empire. Your assumption is wrong about the MGM "umbrella" but I have written about that incorrect assumption so many times (apparently without persuading many member of the Board) that I have given up repeating that info. You can find it in older threads.

If free rooms at nicer hotels is the goal, I would stick with CET and give a little play to some of the other properties in the hope that you get a teaser offer. That or just pay out of pocket for the nicer hotels. Good luck

Free nights at any other players club at that level are very likely to be based mainly on your slot play and wildly dependent on your coin in. Your husbands table play may hardly get noticed.

I am making the following assumptions based on what you have said:

    • CET gives you comp room rates, but not significant free play or other perks
    • You don't have a CET host
    • You aren't diamond and have to pay resort fee unless your TR credits cover it

If that is accurate, I think you should target a middle of the road mlife property (more likely to get low level corporate offers on an ongoing non teaser basis), and do ONLY your slot play there for a single day of your next trip. Play it only the way you want to play without worrying about comps.

If you hit enough coin-in, you might get some corporate offers. If you do, take your next trip there and play at mlife the way you want to (no play at CET, you don't want them to even know you were in town). If the offers ever dry up because your averages drop, fall back to using CET.

I base this on the following

    • CET has a fairly low bar for calendar comps. If your average drops, you might lose a comp on a pricey weekend, or have to stay at a Ballys instead of a Paris for a trip, but they will not simply write you off based on losing a day's play.
    • CET also won't 'forget' about you. Even if you are away a couple of years, calendar comps are still quite likely to be there.
    • While CET won't stop doing offers if you are 'lapsed', their formula focuses on recent play, so once you start going back your rates will rebound to their old level in no time.

In short, I'd say dip your toes in the mlife pool. Easy to do, low risk, with a little upside. You might get one comped trip out of it, or a couple, or you may get nothing. But you are unlikely to lose much unless CET is giving you more than you've let on.

    Hi,
You might want to try the new casino (SLS) as they are hungry for slot players and will likely offer you free rooms and so on after a decent play session. This is also true of the Tropicana.

Yes, you r assumptions are correct and no one is raining on my parade- I appreciate all of the feedback. One other thing I forgot about is that we do have a Harrahs Visa that we use monthly to auto debit something so we don't lose any RC's and then a couple of months before our trip we ramp up usage so I now have VIP Access and I'm platinum. We also have about $300 RC's to eat with. And, yes, I don't want to stay at a resort lower than Paris. We always can get all of our nights comped there but this year we got bumped to two nights comped at Caesars so we are staying at Paris one night and then Caesars for the rest of our trip. We NEVER win at Caesars though and do the majority of our gambling, CET wise, at Paris and Harrahs. I was thinking about trying Cosmo because Holsteins looked good and we were going to try a new burger place but maybe we should go one night to a M-Life property instead. I did used to get all nights comped at Caesars back when the market was bad and I had a few years where I was killing it on slots at Harrahs but haven't had a good run like that in years so I play some slots and then hit the tables- but still enough to get my free Paris rooms. I do like Paris and it's location but their pool does suck so we are looking forward to going to Caesars pool. The last time we were there was when they were filming The Hangover (first movie)- like totally and for real filming it. We were on the edge of their filming and the extras were walking by us the whole time. We had hot frigging lights beating down on us and no drink service but can you imagine? It was pretty cool!!

I'm certainly no comp expert. I don't have a host and pretty much only earn marketing offers myself.

I know others here with more knowledge of the comp systems at CET could chime in here, but even though play at CET properties is all tied to your TR card (and your marketing offers), I would think if you played your whole bankroll at one property you would get much better offers from that property than you have been getting.

So instead of spreading your play around to four or five CET properties, just play at one and I would think the property that got the majority of your play (instead of just a portion) would send you better offers (like 4 free nights + a little FP and/or food credits maybe) as opposed to 2 nights free + discount nights or something (note: this is just an example). Perhaps suite upgrades?

I know you said you are happy with your CET offers, like to move casinos and play where you fancy and want to try new properties, so this might not even be of interest to you. A lot of casinos will give better offers when they think they'll get a big chunk of your play rather than know you like to spread your gaming dollars around - even within the same company. Just something to consider. The key thing is to have fun!

Good luck wherever you end up!

I'm going to disagree with you. I play primarily at PH(90%) and Paris (10%). I get an offer(for concert tickets, tournament, gift card etc) and it's available to me at any Vegas CET property. Someone with a smaller theo/ADT will get the same offer for a gift card, but for a smaller amount and the offer may only be available at lower tier properties. I almost never get an offer that is specific to a single property.
CET also looks at MDV, Market Daily Value. Unlike Mlife, they will look at your combined play across all of their Vegas properties.

What you're describing is more how mlife works.

Well, really, you could try the same approach at cosmo or any other strip place. It just increases the likelihood you get nothing, and/or the likelihood that you get comped once and then the offers dry up.

I guess MGM and Boyd places are more property specific but CET aren't. Good to know. I withdraw my previous recommendation then - haha. To the OP, keep doin' your thing then. Have fun!

I originally had all three nights at Paris comped and can generally stay there the entire time comped. We decided to move since we really don't even have to unpack at Paris. We fly in Saturday, eat, gamble, go to bed then wake up put on our bathing suits and head over to Caesars. I never would move if I had to evenly split or something. That would be a pain. We only go for a 4 day/3 night trip. We have kids and my parents come from out of town to watch them so I don't want to push it. Plus, for us, that is just the right amount of time where we don't get bored or broke! And I say this really because we probably gamble mainly at Harrahs and Paris but last year we did gamble some at PH, Caesars, Cromwell and Ballys and I still get Paris nights comped so I'm playing the amount they want spread out across the casinos. Can't stand Flamingo or Linq. Still thinking about if I should bother switching. Maybe the Cosmo thing and see what happens but I probably have a good thing going where I am. Thanks all!

What room type are they giving you at Caesars btw? Push for a Deluxe or higher if you can, or at least on check in try to make sure your room is in the Forum tower (I believe Classic rooms can be Roman or Forum). Forum is nice, Roman you may wish you stayed at Paris
