I love slots and I like a variety of machines but don't pay a lot of attention to who manufactures which machine. Hard as I try, I can't remember the manufacturer from one trip to the next - chalk it up to old age or lack of sleep when in Vegas - and in the long run, it probably doesn't matter.

Just curious if some of you have strong preferences for one maker over another - Konami, Aristocrat, Bally's, IGT, etc, etc. - and if so, why?
Do you seek out certain brands?
Which 'brand' in your opinion has the best graphics?

Older Aristocrat's are my favorite to seek out anywhere. I love the cheesy game sounds and search high and low for these. You can usually find them by their "game sounds" from across the casino.
If I play slots, which is very rarely anymore, it will almost always be on some old skool Aristocrat's such as: Buffalo, Wicked Winnings 2, Sun and Moon, Pompei, Red Baron, and Whales of Cash.

To me, all the new licensed games made after movies, hit TV shows, and board games are all "money suckers" and I don't seem to get much play for my pay. Sure, the graphics are nice, the sound is loud and immense, but I don't find them as fun as an old Aristocrat.

WMS seems to be making the most popular machines on the casino floor and go after a lot of licensed product... High5 games often have some of the most visually appealing reel symbols... Aristocrat is putting out some nice looking gaming cabinets lately...

Personally, I just like whatever I am winning on lately. I play a lot of Choy Sun Doa (an old Aristocrat game) at my local casino, but in Las Vegas I like to play the Atronic games (never had any at any of our local casinos and I seem to do pretty well on them). Probably the company I play the most is WMS though, just because my local casino has so many of their machines and they have lots of new titles coming out all the time.

Older IGT games and older Aristocrat. Some old WMS games are decent too.

Old is a key theme with me. Better payouts and lower variance which I both like, imo.

Aristocrat is my go to. Konami is probably my #2. I've been burned on WMS games with crappy paybacks so I skip them no matter how pretty they look. I almost never play IGT. I like to fool around with the newer brands but I don't have one I love.

Never thought of the old vs new regarding variance, but as I think about it, the old familiars seem much kinder to me. Could be that I have a bias after all.. Might make a spreadsheet and conduct an unscientific survey on my next trip: old vs new on IGT, Aristrocrat, Bally's, WMS, maybe Konami..although I'm predicting my outcome will not be a surprise - some trips I win big, some I lose big.
Maybe I should only gamble during a full moon - probably as reliable as any other methods I've tried:eek:

You probably need to track the game features too. You can hit big on a stacked symbol game but they aren't good for those little wins here and there you find on older games. Games that have more than one bonus event can be harder to hit on too.

Yeah. Stacked symbols definitely lead to higher variance, particularly stacked wilds.

I don't pay attention to who makes what - but I gravitate toward a certain "look". I realized last trip that they all tended to be Bally and whoever makes the Crystal slots.

Last Friday night we were playing at the Silverton because of it's proximity to the airport, and I hit $550 on a Cashman machine playing $1.25 a spin. I don't know who makes that game, but I like it. :nworthy:

Much prefer aristocrat over any of the others just like the way that they don't have lines on the majority of the machines so any ways pay

If you're referring to "Mr. Cashman" that's an Aristocrat game. My g/f often plays them.

IGT cause they made the Silver Strike machines.

Wish more casinos kept them in play.

My favorite slot games are older Aristocrat games. There are a few WMS, IGT games that I seek out but not near as many as Aristocrat. Most of the newer games don't interest me as they seem to have "BIG WIN" come up if you win 5-10x your bet and to me that is not a big win and it frustrates me more than anything.

I like Konami games because I like the graphics, music, effects, and the entertainment, especially their progressive slots they have. I also like the ones that grab your attention and are fun to watch even when you are not playing. Titan 360 is the most fun to watch slot because of the big screen and mechanical wheel on top as well as the loud volume grabbing anyone's attention who is around the area at the time the wheel is triggered. When it prize upgrades, you feel like you are at a concert with a big audience watching to see if you will hit the big jackpot. Another fun konami game I really enjoy is Rapid Revolver. Great graphics, music, sound, and also grabs your attention when walking by and someone is on the rapid revolver bonus.

I used to be a big fan of WMS slots before Titan 360 started becoming popular making me become a big Konami fan. I have hit a lot of jackpots on Titan 360 and big wins on konami games unattached to progressives with no where near a jackpot for any other manufacture. When I used to play WMS games, payouts were small, a lot of dead spins, and rarely any big wins and a lot of little wins. Most of my play now is on Konami games and I win more playing Konami than I do any other manufacture. The pro of playing konami games is the music and the payouts and the con is it is high volatility and you have to hop around to different slots within the bank or other konami games around because when its dead, it could be dead for quite a while. I have been playing mostly Konami non-stop when I go to casinos since early 2014 and I know that I cannot stay on one game for a long time unless it is on Titan 360 because you have the wheel and the base game bonus as well. When you get neither or any good payouts in the base game, then it is time to change to another game within the bank or go play something else. You can win quick, but then you can lose quick if you are not careful. You could also be on a dead slot, get off, someone else gets on, and then wins big on it. It is best to observe if you can first before playing and once they get off, you get on and have a better chance of winning. It is hard though when you just walk up to a slot and no one has been playing it because you do not know if someone just won on it or not.

Another Aristocrat fan here. I like most of their old titles, and have a few new ones that I really enjoy.

I actually like a group of Aruze slots that came out at about the same time - Aladdin, D'Artagnian, Man of LaMancha. You won't get rich playing them but can churn a lot of coin and they are pretty funny. Gotta turn down the lights though!!

I'll play certain versions of Bally's Quick Hits, but don't care for most of their other games.

I have weaned myself off of WMS after realizing how poorly I personally do on them, in spite of the pretty graphics and interesting features.

I dislike most IGT games, and Konami hates me. Multimedia games are garbage.

i've always been an IGT fan, Texas Tea is my all-time favorite game and has been pretty good to me. I like newer WMS games over the old ones. Blazing 7s is the only Bally game I do well on and Aristocrat and Konami games just don't work for me.

Most of my absolute all-time faves are older IGT games. I also loved lots of the old Wms games that you never see any more, such as Mardi Gras, Wild Wilderness, Quackers, etc.
