    Hi all:
My group has stayed at Flamingo many years for no other reason than we like their pool (it's a tradition, don't judge). Anyways, I see on their website that there is a "cover charge" mentioned (I thought that's what the resort fee was for, but ok...). A very confusing phone call to guest services only muddied the chlorinated waters more. Does anyone know the answer to this question: Do guests have to pay a cover on weekends to use the main pool?

Have never heard of a guest paying fee to enter the pool. What did they say that did not clear it up? Crazy....

I've read the Flamingo opens their pool to the general public at 2pm and makes them pay a cover charge. Pool is always free for guests of the Flamingo.

It is definitely free to hotel guests.

    $10 fee for outside guests.

FYI - On a weekend, get to the pool EARLY, I mean, you may even need to line up before opening time, to even have a chance at snagging a lounge chair. It's that hectic.

    Flamingo pool

So, when you go to the website, it mentions two pools: The GO Pool (which is the large, main one and the BEACH CLUB Pool (smaller and family-friendly). When I talked to Guest services she said, "There is no charge for the GO pool, but if there is an 'event' at the pool, hotel guests only pay $10 to enter." When you go to the website it says that hotel guests are $10 to enter the GO pool. My guess is that there are events there every Sunday, but when I asked if there was an event scheduled for June 28 (the day I am there), she said she did not yet have that information. I don't know, it bugs me that I have to pay a resort fee (which mentions the pool) and then a cover charge to use the same pool. Check out the link to the Flamingo pool page

I sent them an email on their facebook page and asked to clarify. They said at the moment they had two events planned for June, and for those it would be $10. That was all that was planned as of about two weeks ago.

This is a long term play to breakout a separate line charge for the pool.

For now it is just special events, but they will become more and more common until a move is made to charge for the pool itself separately.

Not going to lie, I am a Flamingo fan, but this could be the straw that breaks the camel's back for me with that place. I'm in the planning stages of my next trip (not until 2016), but this is a factor that is making me want to stay elsewhere because I have a feeling this policy will have been realized by then.

Can confirm I was there this weekend and hotel guests were forced to pay the $10 cover. The DJs were capital-A Awful. I mean...bad.

I waited until after 4 and since they had closed the free pool they let everyone free in at that point, but my two buddies paid the cover around 2.

Unfortunately as long as you have people paying that amount and the pool being busy you will probably see this on a regular basis. The Flamingo pool (because of it's size) is usually busy during the summer months so it is easy for them to charge a fee just to use it (in addition to resort fees). We would hope that people would boycott the pool but that doesn't seem to be the case so like resort fees guests will continue to pay these fees.

That has been on their site and the poor wording is what started this discussion. It should explain that the cover price to hotel guests is only charged during special events. The pool remains free during regular days.

Thanks! I was deciding between there and the LINQ.

Flamingo was a bit more expensive, but if I had to pay for the pool as a registered guest, I would have come out ahead staying at the LINQ and paying for pool entry.

I thought the same thing. The website makes it look like you have to pay $10 extra even if you are staying at the hotel. There are several places that let you use their pool for $10, even if you aren't staying at the hotel (like the Tropicana and Monte Carlo, and Planet Hollywood).
