It's my girlfriend's 30th Birthday and she wants a Suite. I honestly don'y know how many people are going to be staying here but I'm guessing at least 4 of us. Her and I in a bedroom and maybe 2 people in the living room. She wants something that's decent size and looks nice inside. She wants to be able to have drinks with her friends before we go out and after we come back from going out.

I'm not sure how much time we are going to spend in the room but this is a very important date in her life and I want to do something special without going to crazy and spending a ton of cash on a room.

I would love to keep it between $1-1.5k for the 3 nights. $2k would be the MAX.

I think if we fit 8 people in the suite we might be able to drop more money buy asking everyone to pitch in. I just don't want to book a suite and then it just looks like a large hotel room.

    Please Help!

A Wraparound at Cosmo and maybe a connecting room if budget allows. But you really need to mention the dates you are going since rates can vary greatly throughout the year.

This over a weekend or during the week? You can get a lot of nice 2 BR suites at a lot of hotels during the week for your budget, but for weekends it might be kind of iffy unless you have some play with the casino ahead of time.

I would suggest the wraparound terrace suite at Cosmo for you and her and the others get their own rooms though. The suite could be the rally point for each evening or gathering place during the day. I had once of these for my birthday trip back in December and it was nice to have my friends stop by and enjoy a drink or 2 while we enjoyed the view from the terrace. Just my opinions, but it would be a lot more fun if you didn't have to wake up in the morning and step over your sleeping friends in their jammies in the living room.

Keep in mind that many "suites" have one king bed and a sitting area, not a living room with a separate door.

As the number of people rise, the enjoyment will drop. You all have to share in sleep times (lights on or off). You have to share bathroom(s). You have to share private time - oops.. never mind. No private time.

I think one suite for you and the drinking, get together and her works. Let the rest get regular rooms and pile as they see fit.

I'm with others saying that your friends should get their own rooms. I'm the same age as your girlfriend and cramming that many people in a hotel room was great when traveling in college.

Wraparound suite at Cosmo would definitely be sweet, but I think you're going to hit the top of your budget ($2k).

    Here's an option to consider...

Vdara Panoramic Suite (maybe even a penthouse suite), decent entertaining space (how many are you expecting?), nice looking, and you'll have a full kitchen with a full-sized, empty fridge & freezer. It would be within your budget (on the low end). Your friends could stay at either Vdara, Aria, or Bellagio. You have a pullout couch, but it's fairly close to the bed with two glass-door sliders in between...

I recommend a Blvd Suite at PHo...it has two separate bedrooms, with a large common room (pool table or air hockey table)

This is the best piece of advice you're going to get. Take it.

I forgot the kicker. Labor Day weekend. Sept 4,5,6(fri,sat,sun).

I'm down with spending $1500 total if I can get a nice place for everyone to hang out and for us(her and I) to sleep in. I can have others get their own rooms.

Thanks for all of the responses.

We are thinking maybe 8 people total. 6 min and maybe 10 max.

Venetian or Palazzo has some suites that might fit the bill for that rate. Siena or Prima.

Labor Day weekend is busy and expensive.

You won't get a nice suite at a nice place for that budget.

I haven't checked rates, but based on past experience, it will likely be a challenge to find a suite at any top- or mid-tier property for Fri-Sat-Sun over Labor Day weekend at an average of $500/night. Perhaps you might be able to get a 'suite' at Venetian/Palazzo (really just a room with a sunken sitting area) at that price. Summer holiday weekends are high demand times which mean inflated prices for even lower-tier properties. Friday and Saturday nights are the most high demand nights most weeks.

Which properties does your girlfriend like? Do you have a players card (MLife, Grazie, Red, etc)?
You should start checking prices on the hotel websites as well as the players club websites for possible discounts (if you have any players cards).

    Good luck!

I would add in that it would be helpful to see what casinos some of the guests play at. For example, if most of the guests are CET players and can get free or discounted rooms, it would not make sense to stay at MGM, etc.

6-8 people in any suite will feel extremely crowded and take a lot away from the weekend.
Better off with 2 connecting rooms or a small suite for you two and separate rooms for friends.

Agree with that. I can hear her the next day asking if you would be a better BF and get a room at Motel6 for TWO next year.

The best value I found for a true suite when booking for this summer was an Executive Corner Suite at Vdara. It has a more secluded bedroom than the others they offer. There is also a half bath for guests.

    This is a great idea.
Labor Day weekend rates still reasonable ( less than $900 for 3 days)
Great location between Aria,Cosmo and Bellagio.
I also think you get use of the pool at Aria.

Aria corner suite is $1300 base rate but the living room would be crowded for 8-10 people.

Is this pricing through the website or do I need a promo code to get this pricing?

    This might actually work well.

    Thanks guys!
