the monorail will get you to Westgate or to SLS, either one you'd have to walk to the Riv from there. Not sure which is closer. I do know that the walk from Westgate to the Riv is walkable if you don't mind parking lots and figuring out how to get from the monorail stop out to the street at Westgate.

As mentioned above, the walk from Westgate to Riviera involves getting from the monorail to the street at Westgate (do you still walk through the old Star Trek experience?), then navigate a parking lot and enter the Riv from the rear. I did this at night once; while I was fine with this, you may not be with walking through an empty parking lot that is not flooded with lights. I do not know about the walk from SLS.

On my trips, I usually plan on spending some time downtown, even when staying on the strip. So I will purchase either a one day ($8) or three day ($20) bus pass and take the SDX or Deuce to downtown. The Deuce has a stop at the Riviera, while the SDX can only get you to Convention Center Drive and the strip. (Still a bit of a walk). Could be another use for a bus pass if you have one.

I'd walk or take the Deuce, whichever you're more comfortable with.

The Sam's Town shuttle from Harrahs used to stop at Riv....that's going back a ways. Anyone know if it still does?

The shuttle schedule doesn't mention a stop at the Riv, just between downtown, sam's town and Harrahs.

As others have mentioned, I would probably just take the Deuce down LVB to get to the Riv.

We were just at Harrah's this past weekend. We took the Deuce to the Riv and back. It was easy peasy!

OK, sounds like I'm betting on the Deuce bus........so if we get a 24 hour bus pass for the Deuce can I then take SDX or whatever it's called back from downtown later that night as the Rivera is only a stop on the way to downtown that day. Or is the Deuce better served for Harrah's.

The pass is good on both the Deuce and SDX. The Deuce makes many, many stops from the south end of the strip to downtown. The SDX makes fewer stops between the south end of the strip and downtown. See the link below for the routes of the two lines.

OK, THANKS......great help that link........now what would be the quickest or easiest bus from the Riviera to downtown....and what stop.....how far is it from the Riv to LV Convention Center to catch the SDX or maybe just take the Deuce and put up with all the damn stops ? ? ?

Our last trip we stayed at Circus Circus and caught the Deuce to downtown right in front of Riviera. It only took 15 minutes during the day.

From the Riv, I'd just get on the northbound Deuce and take it all the way downtown. You'd waste more time walking to a SDX stop (or transferring at the BTC).

Coming back from downtown to Harrah's, I'd just get on the SDX. and walk from either Fashion Show or Bellagio. Deuce has a closer stop, but your trip will take longer due to more stops in between.

Want a lesson in the advanced course? Take the SDX from downtown, and get off at the stop behind SLS on Paradise. Jump on the monorail to finish your trip to Harrah's.
