My buddy is going to Vegas for the first time this week. His girlfriend has access to a discounted room at the Palazoo, so that's where they're staying.

He's a Badger basketball fan. He's not so concerned with hanging in a sports book to watch the game, he just wants to watch it from an enjoyable place. Since I rarely step foot in the Venetian, or anywhere around there, I thought I'd ask the sharpest minds for some recommendations.

He's not going so much for gambling, and he knows I don't endorse what little low rolling blackjack he'll find on the strip because of 6:5. Since I don't play poker much, where might he find some cheap poker on the strip? (Assuming there is such a thing any more.)

Pretty much every casino will have $1/$2 or $1/$3 no-limit games and many will have same level omaha games. $100-300 buy-in. That's about as cheap as you'll get on the strip.

You are correct some have minimum buy-ins of $60 all though that's about as suicidal as buying in for $200 at a $10 craps table. :wink2:

If he's looking to play really cheap he should stick to small buy in tourneys. Most of the CET properties have $50-60 buy ins multiple times a day.

Here's a link to upcoming tournaments in LV (I believe it updates continuously):

Or he can play $1/2 or $1/3 cash games but money can go quick there. I play cash at the venetian when I'm in town, the room is nice, too 3-4 in LV.
