The Delano sent me an email about Franklin, their new place that has high end whiskies available. I am staying downtown for my summer trip and that is as about as far away as it gets. Does anyone know of a place downtown that might have higher end drinks like this available?

Commonwealth or The Laundry Room are probably your best bet.
I checked the Franklin Menu and there are some fine whiskeys available. I'm guessing the selection will not be as broad DT.

Yeah I figured I would not see a selection that good DT, but I will definitely check out what you recommended. Thanks for the tips

Oak & Ivy in the container park have a pretty extensive bourbon selection.

Cool. I will need to check this out. I always make an effort to get to container park but never seem to make it that far east :)

Its a good time. I got all banged up there my last trip. Really, really good bourbon selection. Indoor bar only has 6 seats but they have a bunch of outdoor seating. They make a lot of their own bitters in house which they'll let you try if you ask.

Vic and Anthony's has a decent whiskey selection, although, I've gotten into the practice of bringing a flask of my own to the casinos. Last week, I was sipping my 15 year old Pappy instead of the Beam or Maker's products available at the bars around the sports book. Bourbon doesn't seem to be a thing in Vegas yet.

Double Barrel at Monte Carlo has Blantons. I know it's not downtown but is a damn good bourbon.

Bourbon Room at Venetian has a nice list, as does Yardbird at the same property. The high limit lounge, Alibi bar and the new Bardot brasserie bar at Aria stock an excellent selection of Bourbon and rye. At Aria I always get Woodford or Knob Creek as a call drink at the tables. Bourbon might not be huge yet but you can find plenty of good options if you look.

    I do that too!

I have done this myself the last two trips...bought the red Stanley flask from Amazon.com that was featured in the back of Cigar Aficionado two years ago...works great. I usually fill it with Ketel One or Mac-10 in the room. I did Laundry Room with my wife four trips ago and it was a great way to enjoy 90 minutes in a small, intimate setting. The drinks were $15 each but they were tasty.

The Vanguard Lounge in East Fremont makes craft cocktails and has a large selection of liquors. Drinks are $10 to $15 each, but there's a Groupon for around $20 for $40 of drinks. Combine that with the "local" Groupon sale currently going on and it's less than $18. We've done that three times. Good place to sit for an hour or so and get the clang of the machines out of your head.
