Not really. Every off strip poker room has LHE offerings i.e. Red Rock, Green Valley, Sante Fe, Palace Station, Orleans, Golden Nugget, Suncoast etc.. etc.. With the closing of Miagae till May, my 3/6 LHE search has suffered on the strip (only Ballys seems to run 3/6 on occassion), however the Orleans is less than 10 mins away and I have a car. So I might be giving them a little more action. Palace Station has 2/4 with half kill also! Here's a listing of about 95% of the poker rooms in Vegas and what they offer, along with promos. http://www.bravopokerlive.com/site/scasino

Limit is definitely secondary to NL these days. The best thing you can do is ask to start a wait list for the game you want. Most casual players don't realize this is even possible but it's how games get started. Your best options for good limit games on the strip (that is $4-8 and above; $2-4 is a garbage game) is to go to Bellagio and Venetian. They are almost always good for a loose $4-8 game.

We need more limit hold-em players on the strip.

I've given up hope that limit will come back. I have a trip I'm planning for late May or early June. I'm learning NL. Yes, you can catch 4-8 at Bellagio and Venitian. But it is dead.

Flamingo is consistantly getting 2 or 3 games of 3-6 going almost daily. I just played in one last Tues. Nice group of people.

I like limit because it is more like a bunch of folks sitting around the kitchen table with some brewskis, rather than the frenzy of young 'uns and all of their b.s. on 1-2.

On the other hand, it will take hours of grinding to double your stake on limit, but who cares?

Limit's my favourite game - although I prefer the Stud games to the Hold'em games. Pity being from the UK, we dont get Limit games at all in our casinos so I'm hoping this isnt a foreshadowing for Vegas, its the only place I can get my fix!

Totally agree. Although some people get pissed at me when I raise preflop.

I'm hoping to play in a 4/8 limit mix game at suncoast on Wednesday.

Probably took over the Mirage demand. Are they still charging $5 max rake though? :(

Great game at Bellagio. 10/20, which seems high, but being limit, it is very manageable. Crazy action. I call it the ATM.

Well I am so glad to see some fellow limit players! I agree, limit is a great game for relaxing and having a beer, vs. no -limit which always feels a bit frantic and is filled often with hoodies and sunglasses.
As for limit on the strip, I also gave up. I know there is the flaming-o, but I don't get over that way very much. Off strip, limit is everywhere. South point is close, and they have a 2-4 with half kill going on most of the time (several tables). They used to have a 2-6 spread, maybe they still do.

I've been following the Flamingo's action on the Bravo Poker App and it seems like they always have a 3/6 game going. I'm a fan of playing poker on a low stakes basis and this seems like it's more up my ally. Winning money is great, but I really like just the competitive nature of the game. Only downside to limit poker is that if you have a monster pre-flop (i.e. 3 As, but someone has a backdoor flush draw), they can call you without risking much money and then beat you in the end a lot easier. In NL you could bet enough to scare them away, can't do that in Limit. Oh well, limit is still a better option for my bankroll.

I think 2-4 is more the normal game available but they are now having some 3-6 ever since Mirage has shut down. Don't forget they have the bad beat jackpot both whole cards must play. Really fun place to play if you are just looking to log time with limited bankroll. I will be there on Tuesday for 3 days

I always feel 2-4 limit is more like flipping coins than actual poker. Anybody else get that experience?

This I must see: 3 A's preflop! Impossible unless you are Snuffy Smith with an extra Ace stashed somewhere on your person, or you are playing Pineapple. In the latter case, you are going to hate having to throw away that third ace!

What you mentioned seems to be the thing most no limit players hate about limit. You can't make your strong hands stand up and you pretty much know someone will see you to the river on most hands. But on the other hand, if you are the guy who makes his hand on the river, it's great! Personally I prefer limit as I just don't want to go to the table with several hundred bucks and it's a lot more fun. With no limit, it seems you are always under stress.

If someone with a backdoor flush is calling to the river every time then your set is way ahead and you should be happy in that game. Their chance of completing a backdoor flush is around 8%.

Being able to use all 3 of your cards is actually called "Super Texas Holdem". It was part of the 4/8 mix game I played at Aria in September. In this excerpt from that TR, I didn't even realize I flopped a boat.

I like to play 2/4 Limit when I want to play poker but don't want to think. I mean, there's a lot more thinking involved with NL. I agree with others who say it's more of a social game then these kids with their hoodies and headphones constantly asking "who raised?" because they're not paying attention. I'll often play 2/4 Limit in AC where, at 49, I am far and away the youngest person at the table. I listen as everybody complains about their ailments.

You just have to go into playing Limit knowing you're going to get sucked out on. You will not push anybody off any hand. It's what they say about Limit...a bet saved is almost as important as a bet made. Know when you're beat and get out.

Heading to Vegas in June and planning on playing mostly tournaments but I'm sure some 2/4 Limit will be played too.
