Decided to start new thread. It was reported DTG has went to 6/5 BJ. Can someone verify this?
Is this all games ? Including the $25 DD pitch game? They always had one $5 BJ game that was 6/5
and hoped the writer just saw that one. I have got use to playing the $25 pitch game a lot and hate to seek out
another place to avoid the 6/5 game that are everywhere. I refuse to sit at one and wish all BJ players would do the same.
They would disappear if we all avoided them. But unfortunately BJ seems to get rookies who don't know rules
    and play expecting to loose.

Might have to go to Plaza as last time I checked they had brought back decent BJ games. And of course LVC has 1 game that is $10(day) or $25(night) that is good

I guess they weren't doing poorly enough already, they want to offer 6/5 bj to chase away whatever players they have left. Either that or they think people who stay/play there are either rich and don't care or crazy/dumb enough to not realize what a rip off 6/5 is.

I guess with the rest of downtown offering 3/2 they wanted to try to be like the strip and offer 6/5. So will they get rid of $5 crap tables and start offering $10 or $15 minimum tables too? Or have they done that already, I remember they didn't have $5 crap tables when they first opened.

Guess I won't be playing there anytime soon.

Sorry, just a rant, but it makes you wonder who is running the place and if they care that other downtown casinos their tables are filled but DTG tables are empty.

You are in the minority. Most people don't know or care if it's 6:5. That is reality.

The person running it, is genious despite the fact you are "I'll take my business elsewhere guy"

In December, they had one game going 6/5 and two tables 3/2, I think one was 5$ limit and the other one 15$?? I had a few drinks in me and accidentally sat at the 6/5 table, played 3-4 hands before I realized what I did. Man, I felt like an idiot !! Decided it was time to go to my room for the night. Is the question are ALL the BJ tables 6/5 or just some of them ??

I asked in a thread before and was got no response but what do casinos lose or gain by offering good vp paytables, 3:2 over 6:5, and 3x payout on 2 and 12 ? What kind of extra risk are they taking by giving you better odds (short term and long term)?

Whatya mean 6 is bigger than 3, and 5 is bigger than 2. So obviously its a better deal. :rolleyes2:

I think it's lack of knowledge of the game and people don't take the time to understand the game. I don't know the best pay tables for VP, not because i'm dumb, but because I don't have good knowledge of VP.
or 3 card poker, or any other variation.
However -- If I decided to jump into any of those other games, I'd make sure I understood them before I dropped cash at the table.

My group played several sessions of cards at DTG last August. We all loved the feel of the casino and thought both the dealers and pit crew were really welcoming. We stay at the CAL and play cards at the CAL, MSS, and Fremont due to their 3:2. I know we will go to the Grand on the next trip.....if the tables are still all 6:5.....I will do my usual grimacing at the 6:5 sign, ask the pit if they have any 3:2 tables, and say to the group "that sucks....we really liked playing here and hoped they would do well. Let's head back to the CAL where we can play 3:2."

I love DTG but they better get their head on straight. You are downtown, not on the strip. I play downtown because of that 6/5 strip crap.

Not to try to get the thread back on topic...:rolleyes2:

But can anyone confirm that ALL BJ at Downtown Grand is 6:5?

Edit: Looks like my question was answered. Thanks, LDV!

Thanks for the true answer LDV. I thought maybe some were confused by the couple table that have been 6/5 for quite
some time. Glad they are not all 6/5. Even the D has some 6/5 , also the LVC in party pit had 6/5. Heck the gate has had
contnious shufflers. I don't care if the casino throws in a bad gaame here or there as long as I have good options.
One just needs to seek out the 3/2 and let the 6/5 stand empty. I will be there in 2 weeks and confirm any changes if any

So one SD and one DD table on the main floor are 6/5?

How many "normal" blackjack tables does DTG have (in other words, how many 3/2 tables remain on the main floor)? I know there aren't a whole lot of table games in the main casino.

Bingo, 99.9% of the populous doesn't know (or care to know) anything other than it's "gambling".
The corporations have clued into this and so they're changing things that people don't care about (again, the 99.9%) to make an extra percentage off of the masses.

The tables upstairs by the bar used to be 6/5 but I'm pretty sure they were gone on my last visit. Are there tables downstairs at 6/5 now?
