Looking for a nice steakhouse before we see a show. Currently on my list is Delmonico and Maestros. Any recommendations? I appreciate it!

Which show? If convenience is a factor, that could affect destination.

I say it every time, but my favorite remains StripSteak. They also have a great happy hour specials at pre-theater time, so sitting at the bar could work. But generally the place is just awesome. Hard to go wrong with Carnevino, Prime, or Jean Georges, either. Lots of good options.

Will I be laughed off this board if I recommend the Steakhouse at Circus Circus? I REALLY enjoyed it and loved the "old school" atmosphere - they just need to build a secluded tunnel from the front entrance to the restaurant...

I love the Circus Circus recommendation. It's the only reason I would ever go into that joint, but the steakhouse is fantastic.

Agree, The Steakhouse at Circus Circus is one of our favs. Every time we eat there I can just picture the Rat Pack sitting in one of the booths.

Stick with Delmonico. Great food, perfect service, superb bartenders and you're right next door to your show.

I would do one of the steakhouses at Wynn/Encore or Venetian/Palazzo...SW, Botero, Carnevino, CUT, Delmonico. Can't go wrong with any of them, IMO, and they're all convenient to the show. (Carnevino is my personal favorite, lately, but you can't swing a dead cat on the strip without hitting a top notch steakhouse or two, so I doubt any of the suggestions you'll get will be bad.)

Lawry's! Best prime rib in town and pretty good steak as well.

+1. No need to go elsewhere. One could even argue that the top 3 steakhouses in all of Vegas are located in thoose 2 resorts.

One of my favorites. I even enjoy the chaos inside the CC.

I can't agree more with this. If you aren't hungry or want to avoid spending a lot, their bar is an awesome old-school place to have a drink too.

Delmonico's is a great choice. The wife and I eat at a nice steakhouse almost every trip and it was one of our favorites. We ate at Maestro's a few years ago and were not impressed.

+1 for SW. Hands down my favorite steakhouse in Las Vegas. Great food including cheddar bacon biscuits. Extraordinary service. Great view of the Lake of Dreams. Bonus for you its at Wynn like your show. Make reservations soon because it's one of few I've ever had difficulty getting a spot at a certain time.

    Most of all enjoy!

Thank you all! I'm laughing at the "swing a dead cat on the strip" haha. I might add, I will be with people who are a bit, uh, how do I put it nicely... Are more plain Jane with their eating preferences. I notice some of the restaurants like Delmonico have delicious additions to the steak, like shieshto peppers. That would totally spook them.

    So don't order them. Simple.

SW, CUT and Delmonico are my holy trinity of Vegas steakhouses. All of them can give you a dining experience from plain (but delicious) to amazing (and even more delicious). Just liquor-up your tablemates and dive into the menu. Get a bone-in ribeye with whatever sides suit your mood and chow down.

Yeah, given location, you can do great in the Wynn/Encore and Venetian/Palazzo stretch. Will make you feel less rushed, too.

I'm trying to narrow my steakhouse choice down to one. With my CET credits, I can virtually go to any of their offerings. This will be kind of a big deal since I have been avoiding red meat for month's at a doctor's suggestion to lower blood pressure. It has been working. But, screw BP for one good LV steakhouse meal! I have been to Ruth's Chris, done that. Not interested in Center Cut at Flamingo. Not a fan of Gordon Ramsay. I am leaning toward Strip House at Planet Hollywood or BLT Steak at Bally's.

    Any comments, suggestions etc. welcomed...

SW or Prime. Honorable mention for StripSteak at MB.
