Monte Carlo has typically been my home base for the last 4 or 5 years. But after some rude dealers, minor service issues, and the 6:5 BJ change, we are going elsewhere in the future.

But for us, its a good value, good location, with decent dining options and served us well. I'll definitely be following along with their proposed changes.

My first trip to vegas at age 20 (fake id worked like a champ at several diff. casinos during that trip) i stayed at the MC with my late father. The MC was our (Dad and I) home base for the first couple of years before moving over to the MGM. In the early years the MC treated my dad and I like kings: plenty of comped rooms & food and the annual super bowl party tickets made the MC the perfect place to stay.

I do agree with some of the other posters in that the casino itself is a bit on the boring side... i believe that stems from the casino being a large rectangle that runs east to west. The newer casino floors bring in different design elements- i.e. overall shape of the casino floor, attractions within the casino floor, etc.

The MC is long overdue for an upgrade, but i shake my head when i hear about another high-end luxury ROOM resort.

Rebranding won't fix the problems you had with the MC. Bad service and rude dealers are what we see a lot of in Vegas. Pick a new casino/hotel and if they don't live up to expectations , walk, the dollar talks.

Also encountered a very rude dealer. Walked thru on the tuesday after superbowl and my friend and I sat down at an empty let it ride table just to pass some time. After 3 hands i said loudly that i have had enough of him to my friend and we went to cash out.

I was there a while back passing time, waiting for my brother to get there to go eat on a comp at MC with myvegas and the Blackjack dealer accused me of capping my bet on a double down. It was 3 red chips. She said I capped my bet. I'm like WTF??? I told the pit boss to check the tapes. If i was going to risk going to jail for capping a bet it would not be with red chips at the MC.... The pit boss said just deal the card.

Oh I lost the double down and the dealer had a smerk that she was glad I lost. Played one more hand and left to go eat. Don't think I'll go back to MC again to play.

I dont blame you one bit. I would have made a big issue if someone was accusing me of cheating. No reason to go back there, period.

Maybe they just hate their jobs. But if thats the case, get in a new line of work. I guess thats why the better dealers/staff go to the better properties. We were literally there for 10 min and walked back to the aria.

Pretty much sums up my first and only stay at the Monte Carlo. Not sure how gross McDonalds food wound up outside my window on the 29th floor. Poor cocktail service on the machines. Spent most of the time at MGM, where I had a great time.

When I stayed there I didn't mind the rooms. However, the casino never felt comfortable to me to gamble in. Not sure exactly why but maybe the rebrand can make it more inviting.

I loved how they used to have best blackjack game rules and minimums on the strip. It was a clean and nice environment to play for me for a long time. I never had a chance to stay there, but I always wanted to, given I was spending a lot of my gambling time there.

However, since my last visit in Fall 2014, they're dead to me after switching to 6:5 blackjack.

Stayed there in Nov of 96. Was very nice. Now it kind of reminds me of Harrah's.

Similar experience a few months ago.
Stayed a couple nights at Hotel 32 before moving to Aria.
Loved the room but the casino was awful. Two separate confrontations in two nights with dealer and PB at craps table despite me being the only one tipping at the table.
The PB finally gave in but I had to argue and several other players backed me up.
Reminded me a little of Casino Royale which is not good.
    I will not be back.

Not sure what is in the water at the Monte Carlo but there are quite a few employees that are really unhappy.

2 trips ago we had a bad experience in the sportsbook which carried over to the bar area there. After 2 nights of it I made a complaint and the manager that came down to resolve it made the situation even worse. When I lit them up on a post visit survey the gave us a VIP check in with 2 nights comped. This past trip we encountered a very unhappy bartender at Andre's and a jackass of a bartender in the Pub.

We bounce all over that end of the strip and the only problems we ever seem to have with "Attitude" occur at the Monte Carlo.

I think that the Monte Carlo would rather cater to the locals than the tourist - just a vibe I get.

After calling the Monte Carlo home for 2 years and defending it somewhat on this board we have been won over by MGM.

I'll still visit The Pub and Diablos but my money stays in my pocket at the Monte Carlo now.

My visit to Monte in April we encountered several cold, angry dealers. Also, I have to agree the bartenders were pretty awful as well. I would always spend most of a day in their casino. Come September when I return to Vegas, I'm not so sure now.

I also met a very grumpy dealer at MC. She even accused me of taking my bet back, when she just took my chip after a loosing bet. I can stand some grumpyness (that's not even a word I guess), but accusing me of lying and cheating on a table? Oh hell no!!
We will be staying again on a comp in July, but we will not gamble there.

Its good, well not really but misery loves company, that so many others have pointed out the shitty dealers here. MC was one of the last places I could find my stupid Caribbean Stud poker. And nearly every single time I played there i had a sourpuss dealer. I once had a 3- 4's on a $30 bet and I just needed the dealer to qualify to pay me almost a hundo for my trips. She did and she beat me with straight. I don't need to hear "I'm sorry" when I get beaten on a solid hand. But she down right laughed and clapped her hands before she organized the cards to show how awesome she was.

I find it so hard to believe that nearly every other MGM casino hires friendly dealers except this one.

That would annoy the hell out of me if a dealer openly clapped at a loss.

I'd probably tell her to fuck off and then tell the pitboss too

I felt like Clark Griswald with the dealer yelling "I'm on a roll tonight!" I just took the dick punch and moved on.
