Hi all, Counting down the days now to a 4 day bender in April. My problem is I always lose at least a day to a killer hangover, I'm a lightweight at the best of times. Has anyone tried the hangover heaven bus, revive in the mgm or any other IV hydration place? Love to know if its worked for anyone or should I just suck it up and get a beer in?? Mick
I too am intersted in anybodys experience with any of these services. I have a buddy who stays in the room till 5-7 pm daily because he is so hungover. He was planning on Hangover Heaven daily for our upcoming trip but would love to know others experience.
They did the bus... they went the day after a looooong night... I'm told the people who run this thing will not accept anyone who is still drunk.
Supposedly the Bytox hangover patch is supposed to work pretty well too. A reporter from the Huffington Post tried it out and reported that they had pretty good results from it. But I guess like almost everything else your results might vary. We watched a "The Getaway" on Esquire TV - Adam Pally in Vegas. They got toasted and then tried out the bus with pretty good results.
My whole crew did it last time around and I highly recommend it. They will also come to your room for a bit extra $$$. That's what we did. We used PushIV.
For different medical reasons ive had more IV's than I could count and never ONCE have they been done by a DR. Yes they were done in medical facilities but I wouldn't worry about the setting at all. One screw up and this business is DONE. Also, it's far from brain surgery putting an IV in. That said, I'm sure the IVs work to some degree, how much I bet varries on the person and the hangover ....
I spent 25 years in my little town as a paid volunteer firefighter ( first ones through the station doors drove the trucks! ). During brush fire season we had a pretty good idea the day before if it was likely to be a busy day so we would not drink soda, beer, booze, milk - actually anything except half strength Gatorade. The full strength stuff has too much electrolyte solution in it to make an entire day's worth of hydration so we and others went the half strength route. Worked great, no cramps, no heat exhaustion. When I go to Vegas and anticipate a booze marathon, it happens infrequently, I spend pretty much the entire day before in moderation when ingesting electrolytes like pedialyte and Gatorade. I bet there's a Doctor or two here who can offer better info but since I'm near 60 this works for me. Maybe a younger person can tolerate the overload but I'm not willing to risk it. As I understand it the Hangover bus is staffed by a couple anesthesiologists - Doctors - and assisted by nurses. Don't worry about hygiene, it's safe and professional.
I'm not sure what you mean by the half- strength Gatorade? I kinda thought gatorade was gatorade? It's helped me many times, more times than I can count, not just after a long night out in vegas LOL !! I'm curious about pedialite? The medical problem I've had really takes a lot out of you (without going into detail if you know what I mean) which is why I really do believe that the IV WOULD help you feel better. Depending on the hangover degree, I don't know if it'll cure it but I think it'll make it so you can at least function the next day....
Pedialite is what they give to kids when they're sick. Not sure witch one is stronger, but either will work if you take it before you go to bed. At least has with me.
I reckon I will stitch it in on day 3...100 bucks to not lose a day is worth it. If anyone's tried it is their basic package enough or do you need to go the whole hog.... They seem to have a 99 dollar iv only, 149 iv and vitamins and 200 to include the anti nausea medication....suppose it depends in how well the gambling goes the night before as to what I can afford
Wait a sec.... Let me see if I got this. They have buses in Las Vegas like blood donation buses, but instead of giving blood, you get hooked up to an IV to cure a hang over? Really!
