Vegas show are no longer attractive to us.... how about you

We seen many good shows and only one circus act.....KA which we thought was BORING........and now not many shows draw our interest.

How about you guys ? ? ?

Does it seem like Vegas needs more top shows and time to rid itself of the circus acts.

 

I've only seen Mustere, and would be okay not seeing another Cirque show. However, I've heard Carrot Top is pretty damn good and might catch him in March.

 

If I schedule a show, all day I am thinking, "I have to be at the theater by X:00. That means I have to be at dinner by X:00. That means I have to clean up and get ready by X:00." It ruins my whole day as I keep checking my watch. To me, LV is all about doing what I want when I want with no time schedule. For a really good show (recently Seinfeld, Jersey Boys) I'll structure my day, but for any average show, no way!

 

Agree! I I thought KA was so boring... The only good part is the finale.
I really like Zarkana but its pretty wacky. My mother and father in law both fell asleep during it.
Really would like to see more variety type shows. Best show we have seen would be Peepshow when it was at PH. Hitting up Zumanity next week so hope it is good!

Blue Man Group was pretty decent at the Venetian dont know how it is now at the MC.

I always wonder why more Broadway type shows dont come to Vegas??

I saw Copperfield, Criss Angel and LOVE. Everyone was different but Copperfield is much better than Angel. But that is no surprise. But i did not hate Criss Angel either.

Love was just amazing. As a beatles fan i was close to tears..

So... I like shows, i go see shows and i think it's Part of Vegas. Even if there are many shitty shows in this town (i would never go see Britney) i will probably go and see the new panda or a titty show in february..

 

When we saw MJ One, I think we exhausted all the shows that we have wanted to see. Most of the shows do not interest us. They don't represent our taste and many of the shows are on their last legs. I remember a few years ago when I saw David Hasselhoff starring in the Phantom of the Opera at Paris, I believe. To me that symbolizes the state of the shows in Vegas. Most are shit and once in a great while a good one comes along. The next show that I will see will likely be one of the lounge bands if they are playing something I like when I walk by.

 

My issue is how expensive so many of the shows are. When I first started going to Vegas in the early 90s, you could see, for example, a comedian who had been on the Tonight Show. Maybe set you back $35. Now granted you have to adjust that for inflation, so maybe $60 in today's money. But still...you have to pay more than that to WATCH PEOPLE IMITATE THE RAT PACK. To see glorified karaoke by unconvincing imitators costs between $66 and $100 for this Saturday night. And for a real show? Like, one worth bothering to see? 2-3 x that price. You have a significant other, and you're set back about $600 for something decent. Totally asinine.

 

We saw "You Don't Have a Clue" at Bally's last year. Bally's should be embarrassed for having something that horrible at their hotel. It was bad. Really bad. It was worse than Peep Show.

We see a lot of shows in Vegas and are awaiting some turnover. We've seen almost all the shows we want to see and need new ones.

 

I hear you. I'm trying to convince myself to pull the trigger on two tickets to MJ One for an upcoming trip, but I find it hard to part with nearly $400 for two tickets. I splurged on Le Reve back in November. It was entertaining enough, but still not worth $330 (to me) for two tickets. My max limit for a show is about $100 per ticket. I've never seen a show that I thought was worth more than that.

 

Generally, I enjoyed the Cirque shows I have seen. But I do wish the Strip had more variety, or changed it up a little more frequently. That's why I enjoy the shows that bring in new stand up comedians every week. The shows are usually pretty different depending on the comedians

 

I only visit Vegas twice a year and I go to whichever show thy comp me tickets to. I have been happy with most of the shows everything in Caesar's Coliseum has been good, I liked KA, and Zarkana On the MGM side. I think staying in the hotel with the show and having good seats makes them better. I have been pleasantly surprised with some of the "Free" shows for CET Diamonds also (Million Dollar Quartet) I am not sure how I would feel though If I were paying a lot to see the shows. I do think some good afternoon comedy shows would be good especially in the winter when the pool isn't a great option. In a few years when I have seen 10 more shows I may begin to echo your views, but for now I am still finding something new each visit.

 

Last show I saw with the wife was Elton John Red Piano...not cheap but was worth it imho...
Last show I went to alone was Shania Twain.... $88 again, not cheap,but worth it....plus she is hot


Would like to see Rod Stewart and Seinfeld...

Back in the day I did see Redd Fox ..I laughed so hard my sides hurt...

And Kenny Kurr was pretty good.

i have seen so many shows and i used to like them but i also am struggling to find something I think is worth spending my money on. We have Seen MJ One twice. I liked both times, but I won't pay to see it again. I have seen all the Cirq shows excepet Cris Angel and Zaranka. I have seen Carrott Top from the front row(loved him), Jabawokeez, Blue men, Phantom when it was at Venetian, Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia, La Rev, Bill Cosby, Lewis Black, Danny Gans, Terry Fator, Mac King, Peep Show, Absinthe, and Barry Manilow, oh and Pink at Mandalay Bay.
The only thing left on my bucket list is Penn and Teller before they retire.
I'm tired of shows and now that I typed all those out, it's no wonder why! I also hate having to "schedule dinner" and watch my watch so and follow those crowds through the casino.

 

Totally agree, I do exactly the same thing! I make myself include one show each trip, but it's a more stressful day watching the time.

 

Someone mentioned Danny Gans.............GREAT show he put on and I couldn't believe the radio when they said he died (2 years after seeing him)

Several have mentioned Jerry Seinfeld..........let us know how his show is now.....we seen him over 10 years ago when he did a show in our town. He was basically boring......the man who went on before him was MUCH better. And we LOVE his show ! ! !

We have seen about 2 dozen good shows since 2002 but like I already mentioned, we are now struggling to see something worth our money this April.......probably going to be a comedy act at Harrah's. Last year we did get to see Jason Alexander (much better then Jerry) and that was a surprise to us because we always go at Easter and there is never any big names in town on the slow weeks.

 

On my visits to Vegas I have seen some great shows, Elton John, Tom Jones, Rod Stewart, Matt Goss and Shania Twain also seen David Copperfield and Penn and Teller, and I enjoyed them all and watching them in Vegas made it a bit more special, I have not seen any Cirque shows as I don't think they are for me.

 

We like production shows like "Vegas: the Show" where we can get 2for1 tickets. Next week we'll try Gordie Brown at the GN with a coupon. Every few trips we stop in the the Improv at Harrahs to be entertained. No big planning for those type of shows, coupons available so the cost is halved and usually by that time at night I'm not feeling any pain and just about anything is funny or entertaining.

Seen Ka, Jubilee and some other big production shows and of all of the bigger ticket items, the only one that was worth it was Absinthe. The others we have seen weren't very impressive to downright bad (KA).

There are also some pretty sweet lounge acts we catch all over the city. They are free without cover most times, and usually the talent is pretty impressive.

 

We have gotten more into seeing concerts in LV rather than the typical production shows or acts. There is something very special about the energy of a LV concert!

 

We still love seeing shows. We could see Human Nature every other trip and be quite content. Besides, there are enough acts coming and going that we can always find something new to see.
