Just Returned from Caesars

Just returned back from 4 days at Caesars. We normally stay at Paris but my husband talked me into Caesars. Because we have been to Vegas many times, I decided to give it a try. All in all, no major complaints. We had a nice time with a beautiful room in the Augustus Tower. The gambling was great and even hit a royal on video poker. The bar that is located by the lobby that has video poker was the greatest with outstanding bar tenders. The walk to the strip is not something I liked so if anyone out there is coming to Vegas for the first time I would stay somewhere center strip. Makes it more fun.

The bad: With still loving Vegas, there were a few disappointments. I have been a Harrah's Platinum card holder for nearly 10 years. We always have comped rooms which we did this time also. It was a little disappointment to see they charged us the $28.00 resort fee. Is this something new with comped rooms? Also disappointing to have to buy the coffee for the coffee maker from the mini bar - $12.00 for 4. I am not cheap, but if they are going to give you the coffee maker they should supply the coffee. They do this at all hotels. Even motels I believe. Had to pay $20.00/night to get a refrigerator for the room. We have always done this and never were charged before.

The food was for the most part fabulous. However, we were overcharged at NOBU when we ordered a recommended sushi and then they charged us $80.00 for it (was 5 bites of sushi). The most disappointment of the trip was Mesa Grille. We waited one hour for an appetizer and then longer for our dinner. When they brought out the dinner it was wrong. We were ready to leave at that point and the manager didn't want to work with us on the bill. We will never return to Mesa Grille.

So, even though it was worth the expense of everything, we had a great time as we always do in Vegas.

I do believe next time I will not choose Caesars but will stay closer on the strip. I just love the feeling of Paris and all it has to offer.

 

Thanks for posting your experience. We are also Paris/Bally's regulars and have never wanted to stay at Caesars since it is so big and not a fan of the long walk everywhere. I think it was in April that CET did away with the waived fees on rooms for Plat / TR cardholders. No one happy about that one.

 

Real similar to my Caesars experience. I prefer Ballys or PH largely due to the long walk and lack of moderate priced food and drink. I think Caesars certainly has its niche, and I am also sure I don't fall into it. We found it suits an older crowd who wants to wine and dine and not really leave the property as often as we like.

I did enjoy the Augustus Tower, but that was about it.

 

I've always considered Bellagio and Caesars to be center strip. Not sure why you think it isn't. Perhaps you don't consider walking to Venetian and Wynn?

 

Thanks for posting. Paris has been our home base for the past 4 years but we are switching things up this trip out and staying at Caesars in an Augustus Tower Suite. I've always been turned off with Caesars because of it's huge size and I've heard the walks to the room and strip can be rather long. My wife has become rather bored with Paris and wanted to change things up.

 

Center Strip is only on the east side of the Strip, like Paris, Bally's, Harrah's, Venetian, and Wynn.
Bellagio, Caesars, and Mirage are not Center Strip because you have to walk across the street.......LOL.

 

Indeed, Caesars is center strip.

Funny how some people will complain about the walking from Caesars to the strip while others will insist the walk at Signature to the strip is not bad.

I'd stay Caesars every trip if Bally's didn't offer me so much love.

 

If you use one-dimentional map, Caesars Palace is indeed at the center.
But in a three-dimentional real world, walking from Caesars's guest room to anywhere on the strip takes 25 minutes.
You could walk from TI to Monte Carlo in much less time.

 

The Stayed Augusta Tower in December. Could walk to Flamingo in a little over 5 minutes. Don't how you get 25 minutes to strip.

 

Caesars is center strip! I stay at Caesars often but I also stayed at pretty much every single hotel on the strip. The walk from the rooms to the strip is not 25 minutes!!!!!!!! I know I'm a fast walker but it takes me definitely less than 10 minutes from anywhere in Caesars to the strip! There are exits to the strips everywhere The walk from Aria to the strip is definitely longer, same thing for Venetian or MGM or Bellagio or Mirage.

I don't understand why people on this board hate Caesars (I'm talking about the hotel not the casino and the game rules) so much! In my opinion it is a really nice hotel with great amenities, the rooms (from palace tower up) are great rooms, best spa on the strip, great restaurants and buffet. And right in the middle of the strip

 

Thanks for posting. I usually stay at Paris but my hubby wanted to try Caesars this spring. I am apprehensive due to the size of Caesars. I'll make sure I pack some Keurig coffees for the room.

I pretty much base Strip geography on Caesars. Anything north of CP is "North Strip" and anything south of it is "South Strip".

 

Love Caesars, stayed there many times. No complaints.

 

I'd like to try Caesars...but I can't get a good enough deal.

Flamingo still prices out comp or cheaper. How's the pool at Caesars?

 

The pools at Caesars are beautiful and we've never had a problem getting a lounger.

 

I stayed at CP my first ever trip (1995) and havent stayed since. Usually visit once a trip to gamble, eat or shop.

We just like Paris because its such a short walk to PH, Ballys, Bellagio and Cosmo.

 

The pools at CP are amazing. There's a family-oriented pool, a more adult pool, a blackjack pool and even a topless pool.

 

Was at CP this time last week with the wife celebrating our anniversary. She had never been to Vegas. Had a great room in the Octavius Tower after originally being booked in the Palace. Spent the majority of my time at other casinos gambling however. Over the past 24 months, my experience with the BJ dealers has been less than stellar. Would rather play at the Flamingo where the dealers put me more at ease. I'm sure it's personal preference, but the dealers by and large seem haughty.
