It looks like no Steve Perry, Arnel Pineda instead. He's pretty good, but I don't think I would shell out the big bucks to see them without SP.

Have you heard Steve Perry lately? Have a look. Arnel is much better.

No, I have heard Arnel. Point is, for me anyway, is the nostalgia of seeing the original group together. Like the same reason people shell out big money for Stones or Paul McCartney tickets.
These guys are well past their prime. I can go see a cover band for a Pseudo Journey experience, its seeing an original back together, at least for me to part ways with my money.

Have you heard Bob Dylan recently? He now has a gravelly voice and sounds horrible.
Legend or not, a cover singer or lip synching would have been much more enjoyable.

I too prefer "original" band members, but that's just not reality anymore with the age of most of these bands and the in-fighting that can occur over 30-40 years. I think it's easy to say, "not interested unless it's the original folks."... but, that means you'll miss out on some good entertainment. I recently saw Journey in Tahoe and the new guy sounds incredible!

We have found that we are going more to our local casinos not for gambling but, because of the entertainment. There are a lot of these older acts doing the casino tours across North America. For example, we saw Steely Dan at Caesars Windsor this summer and thought it was great. We have gone to Windsor, Niagara, Seneca and Rama for some great shows.

I get your point, but there's got to be a time when you say they just don't have it anymore. I saw Paul McCartney last summer, he sounds amazing for a man of his age. Steve Perry does not. Arnel is incredibly talented and Neal Schon is still with the band. He is arguably the face of Journey. I would much rather see the original Journey without Perry than see Perry with another band.
