I have a 4 night comp booked at Flamingo in March. But, I'm tossing around the idea of using MyVegas LPs and staying at MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay instead. These are my options - which would you choose? Family of 4, 2 adults (both have MyVegas accounts) and 2 teenagers 14 and 16.

-4 nights comp at Flamingo, use LPs on 4 buffets or two BOGO show tickets..monorail passes etc.

-3 nights comp at Mandalay Bay with an MLife offer (includes $50FP an $100 resort credit) and 1 night comp MyVegas LPs - use left over LPs for buffets, monorail passes etc

-4 nights comp using MyVegas LPs between the 2 of us at MGM and left over LPs for whatever (will only have 1 left each)

Most of the MyVegas rewards now require a minimum stay so our options for redemption are limited if we stay at Flamingo. I have over 400k LPs and Hubby has around 170k LPs.

The location of Flamingo was what made me book that first, especially having the kids with us this time. Not sure if the weather will be warm enough to enjoy the pools at MGM or Mandalay bay in early March (March 9)

I have not stayed at MGM in a long time and never stayed at MB. I have stayed at Flamingo several times. For me, just for the location it would be the Flamingo. Sure the hotel is a little (or a lot) dated but I think the room are fine.

Edit to add that I don't do the MyVegas thing so I have no idea what LPs are and if they should factor into the decision at all.

I am partial to Caesars properties, however, i would take the MGM offer. MGM is a nicer hotel than Flamingo and it's close to other south strip properties like NYNY and Excalibur. At MGM, you will have easy access on the monorail to the LinQ, Caesars, Venetian, and just across the street at Monte Carlo you can catch the Tram up to Bellagio. Across the street at Excalibur, you also have a Tram that takes you to Mandalay Bay.
If you choose Flamingo, upgrade to a GO room. The LinQ next door has the Wheel, shopping, and Brooklyn Bowl, but since you will have passes on the monorail, departing from MGM is easy if you're staying there.
I would take the MGM offer just for the rooms.
P.S.........don't tell Gary Loveman i said that.

Since you have kids along, I would do MB because of the pool there.

The MGM and Mandalay Bay are a better choice in my opinion. You're going to do a lot of walking anyway so what's the big deal about the center strip location? Flamingo is old, moldy underneath all the renovations and the pool at Mandalay Bay is much nicer. Plus there are better dining options with all the new restaurants at NYNY, Monte Carlo, the new buffet at Excalibur and you'll have a resort credit to burn off.

    Your decision of course!

I've spent over 500,000 LP's on various show tickets and meals but not a single room yet. I still have over 600,000 left and build up more every day. Never bought a chip. Have fun!

Mandalay. You only get the super tiny unremodeled rooms at MGM with your points, king bed only! Also the resort credit is great, and they have a great pool and Shark Reef for the kids. Also you don't have to go through the torturous pain in the butt of finding 4 nights in a row you can even book at MGM with all the rules, and the 2 hour wait on the phone to book it...

Flamingo is gross, if you can do something better I would!

I made a mistake...I checked my offers and saw it was a three night comp/freeplay/show/resort credit through MLife for MGM, not Mandalay Bay. So I think the best deal would be to do that offer and tack on a one night bonus comp through MyVegas = 4 night stay. Then each get additional freeplay through MyVegas (since we will be a guest and eligible) and 4 buffets. That leaves one more MyVegas choice for my husband and we can each still get the BOGO monorail passes and other extras that don't count towards the 3 reward limit (I'll still have a ton of LPs left over for next trip)

My parents might come along so I'm hanging onto the Flamingo res and could check them into that reservation and let them use that room for free. That will also give them some vacation time away from the kiddos too!

    Makes sense right?

MGM then is good. But do be aware the rooms are probably different...

Yeah she mentioned the MyVegas room is a west wing king...which my husband and I stayed in last May -SUPER TINY- but it's just for one night. If I can't talk the desk clerk into merging it all into the same room in the Grand Tower (which is what our offer is for) then we'll all just have to suck it up for that one night. lol
