Ok I some how made diamond level at the CET casinos and they are all nice casinos and I get good comps and free rooms whenever I want. But....

I feel like I'm stuck at playing at CET casino and I shouldn't go to the other casinos because I'm getting free rooms and free play / resort credits. So I'm pretty much stuck unless I want to start fresh at Mlife and grind out teir points and credits till I get to the point where I ger free rooms and so on. Anyone else else feel this way? Or is it just me?

I usually make 1-2 trips for sure and I've started to make more trips out there now so I probably come out anywhere between 1-4 times in a year depending on what else is going on and who's able to go. I usually am the one bring a few friend with me.

I would like to try some of the other casinos but I don't want CET to give me free rooms and me giving my play to Mlife. Even though I gave CET enough for the comps that I'm getting so the free rooms aren't really free I've paid / lost my share to pay for my rooms and my free play / resort fees. I don't really drink alcohol but I've had rough times where I'll pay 501 dollars for a Pepsi.

So what's a guy gotta do... I guess I'm pretty much stuck.

    Any thoughts?

Bite the bullet, and on one of those trips, stay at an M Life property. If you are playing enough to get Diamond at CET then I would imagine you would be able to get most if not all of the room cost comped off at the end. Give CET no play on that trip so you don't hurt your standing with them.

So if I took an offer from CET and went out there and gave all my play to Mlife are you saying I'm burning bridges? I figured that I've already gave them enough play that's why they've given me these offers. I know I've given them more money then I've recieved back in comp rooms or free play / resort credits that's for sure and then some. I figure that I've already earn those free night and offers they email me / mail me because of how much I played last year and this year and the pervious years before that. Jus that I've increased the amount of trips I made out there the last two years.

I know it may seem wrong but I mean haven't I already earn the rooms getting the diamond status?

Years before I use to play at the Mlife casino but I didn't play that much was mostly relaxing pool side and buffet and some poker little slot. Mostly just relaxing.

You wouldn't necessarily burn bridges but you would definitely see the quality of your offers decline. Comps are not a reward based on your past play, as most people believe they are. Comps are based on an expectation on what you will play. I know I've gotten mailers from Mlife casinos that has fine print that basically says "if you don't play similar to how you have in the past, we have the right to turn around and charge you for your free room". I'm not sure they ever would do that, but if you did it more than once, maybe they would. I've never seen the same fine print since switching from Mlife to CET (something I will never regret and happy I did), but you never know.

My advice? If you want to play at an Mlife Casino, book directly through one, even if it costs you. If you're a diamond player, chances are your play will get your room comp'd backend anyways and you'll have two loyalty programs happy with you instead of one/none

If you book the CET room for free and no play they just so you can play at Mlife you will burn that bridge. Its really hard to bounce back from a "No Play" visit. They arent that dumb.

But i feel your pain. CET has been giving me $500 in free play and my comped room for as long as I want it. I';m diamond as well. But i prefer to stay and play with MGM where i was Platinum last year. But my offers there arent as strong. So I'm almost stuck staying with CET to get the free play. BUT I'm still on MGM's radar so I'll book 2 nights there and 2 nights at CET that way I get to play everywhere I want to.

If you are Diamond and dont get MGM comps yet reach out to a host. Tell them you are looking to switch and see if you can at least score a free room. They ususally are cool with this or at the very least they will try and waive the room at the end of your trip after looking at your play.

Among the things I think it boils down to are:

1)Where do you like to stay/play? I like to stay at Venetian/Palazzo but (as a slot player) it's very hard to make your money last

2)What time of the year are you changing over? We're 3 months in to the mLife year and the 2015 year for CET hasn't started yet.

3)It is definitely hard to bounce back from a "no play" visit.

    Just my .02

You can stay at CET, not give them 100% of your play and still get good offers. I feel perfectly comfortable trying other places while on their comps. if you are capable of earning Diamond in a couple trips, you would risking not getting free play or gift cards before they would cut off free rooms. However, if your aim is comparable comps from MLife, your best shot at that is to stay with them and give them most of your play.

I would disagree highly with this interpretation of what that small print says. Nobody here has ever said Mlife, or even CET has charged somebody for a room due to low play on the current trip. I have seen reports of somebody that had two future comp/offers booked. Low played the first visit, and the 2nd visit was "recalled". That is what the small print is referring to.

I would agree that upfront comps/offers are based on an expectation of what you will spend. At the same time, it is based on your past play. So, one could see how some think it is a reward, which of course it is not.

Then of course there are the back-end comps, which are totally based on the your just completed play for your current visit.

Thanks for all the repays and thanks for taking the time to read my post and reply much appreciated.

I think for this year I'm going to stay with CET and see how it goes because I already have another trip planned for May and don't want them to get pissed even though they've got me trap kind of. Hard to turn down the offers when I have to pay for those plane tickets. CET has been good to me so far and I do like the location of most of there hotels are central. I'll see and maybe try and find a Mlife host and see if there anything they can do but I doubt it I'm a small fish in a large ocean. Again thanks to everyone that read / replied!

I play CET pretty heavy OUTSIDE Vegas, but play Mlife in Vegas. We usually get a room, often a suite in Vegas (at CET) and really do not play that much at CET. Not sure if we keep getting Vegas rooms due to that low play, or because of play elsewhere.

You might think of playing some at CET while taking advantage of the free room and see what happens.

You can alway book a room with cet and play an ok amount. Then play the rest at mlife casino. You will most likely get some sort of teaser if your play is adequate. Book next trip at mlife and you are good. Your cet offers might decline slightly but they will most likely still be there

I use to only play at mlife. Leaving was the best thing since I experienced casinos I would have not likely stayed at.

I have seen it reported on other boards with MGM a long time ago. But they were big offers with inclusions like room upgrades, limos, RFB and the like and booked with a host. Sometimes the issue was the player was accused of short play but I recall a situation where the problem was they won too much. I haven't ever heard of it with CET.

As to whether the trip is being paid for previous comps: Remember that with CET, they are slower to to do discretionary comps than most other casinos on a current trip preferring to do bounceback comps. Usually all of the offer is really paid for. Casinos like MGM is more likely to do discretionary comps so they are doing there offers partly with what was earned but more in anticipation of play on that trip. In both situations, they will cut you back if you don't play to expectations but like I said before, CET is a little more flexible.

I have been at that same crossroad as you. Since I started going to Vegas in 2008, I spent my first 4 years only staying at CET properties as Diamond member.

I finally decided to try a MLife place on one of my trips, and gave Aria a half day's play. My play was fortunate enough to get noticed, and I got my first Aria offer soon after that. I remember It was 3 nights in an innovative room and $75 resort credit. Nothing earth shattering , but it got my foot in the door, and after I stayed on that offer, I was contacted by a host. I am still a loyal diamond member with CET, but now I have a lot more options when I go to Vegas. So, you may want to just give a mlife property a bit of concentrated play on your next visit, because you never know :)

I might I'm taking my mother out this trip she doesn't get to go so where ever she wants to play I'll take her there. She loves slots anyone have any good places for slots? We have a car so we can get where ever. Idk if Fremont street is any better then the strip or am I suppose to find the casinos that are far off from the strip and sitting alone. I've never been to the Gold Coast or the queens but I do remember seeing them though at night driving around or a taxi ride back from a place but idk.

Out of vegas play certainly is considered by CET. Like you I never play CET while in Vegas, I occasionally hit up a local one when I go visit family. With my microscopic play I see comp midweek rooms at the lower end properties like harrahs. So it's not hard to get a room even by playing infrequently or at a lower level of you're not that picky.

I believe that your offers etc are market specific (MDV, market daily value??). I play 10x bigger in Vegas and my offers reflect that. My offers in AC and other regional CET properties are much smaller.

i've copied in something from Hunter............

There is no difference. Here is the thing though, remember that nothing is free in this world, ESPECIALLY vegas. Nothing screws you more than coming in on upfront comp nights and not playing at a comp level. They are going to start getting a lot less understanding of folks abusing comps in the coming year... Always pay for the room if you don't think you will be playing to a comp level. Comp nights aren't given as a reward or anything. Comp nights are provided as a trust that if we remove the burdon of paying for the room, you will play, otherwise pay for it upfront and look at getting it comped end of trip if you do end up playing. Only thing that affects discretionary comps is the value of the rooms, which increase for nicer properties and suites. Let's say your play allows me to comp you 300 total per day and you are in a room, that would allow me at PH for example to cover 200 in food and beverage, however if you do a suite, I couldn't cover any f and b.
