Is there ANY Blackjack game in Vegas where you can hold the cards? Blackjack pitch. I remember playing years back in high limit room. Is it outlawed? If not, Gaming board thing or Casino rule? Can you hold the cards at any Indian casinos? In the ocean on a cruise? In Macau?

what do you mean hold the cards? keep them in your hand? or hold in both hands?

in the DD games i've played in vegas, you can pick up the cards in one hand but then have to slip them next to your bet after your decision(s) are over...

Yes, there are handheld blackjack games in Vegas. They are more common off the strip & downtown, but there are a few that I can still think of that are on the main strip. Casinos have become more paranoid as time goes on about the players possibly marking the cards etc. that most of the higher limit games are "hands off" whether they are DD or shoe games.

Edited to add: There are no gaming rules against hand held games and it is the casino's choice if they want to offer the hands off games.

most places have gotten rid of the pitch games because the shoe games run quicker = more profit.

but if you know the pit boss you can get them to deal you pitch most anywhere.

Really. Come to think of it I was playing at the wynn and ask the dealer and sup if she would hand shuffle from now on and they said of course! No machine. When I go in a couple days I well ask to make it a pitch game. I'm sure they will?

Single deck BJ. Hold with one hand, keeping that cards on the table. Then scratch the cards on the felt for a hit or tuck under (or near) your chips for hold.

    Packer,
    If you're not getting a hand-held/hand-shuffled game..then I'm bewildered...

In the Talon room and hight limit room on the main floor of Cosmo you can request their double-deck game be pitched. They normally deal it face-up but if you ask nicely they will switch. They may pretend to "call upstairs" but they always do it.

I played pitch at a double deck table at Harrahs vegas earlier this year at a $25 minimum. The high limit rooms at Venetian/Palazzo also have double deck pitch. Its mainly the MGM casinos and Wynn that don't use it (not sure about downtown, though). If you're looking for other markets, the double deck games in Tunica are pitch

I'll echo UKFan's recommendations (and V/P also have tables on the main floor in addition to the HL room, though they're H17). TI also had pitch games (S17) in the HL room last time I was there. Though that was a year or two ago.

I played some low limit pitch games at MSS last month but the rules were pretty awful.

I would think they would rather give you cards face-down so you can't really count. On multi-deck shoes I've only seen face-up where you can't touch the cards.

Touching the cards also require them to change cards out more often. It may be around every four hours. When players don't get to touch cards, they change cards around twice a day.

I have requested pitch at the Mirage and was turned down. The dealer told me she hasn't seen it for a couple years and it was only to specific players. I play pitch most trips at Harrahs.

You can find pitch at plenty of places, stop asking dealers at the mirage and just wander around.

I read that MRI (or whatever the Wynn owned company was called in 2000) stopped dealing the cards face down shortly after the bellagio opened because they were hit hard by cheaters and they believed not allowing the players to touch the cards would help.

Yes, UK that's what I was told by several casinos in the past. No touch no cheat. Instead now some of us count with the cards face up. Don't really need to touch them. And that isn't cheating. I still like touching and turning my own cards. doesn't help just like to.

Yeah, obviously the cheating they were combatting was players marking cards

There are slightly better rules & more profit potential in the 6 deck shoe games.

Well, that depends on where you play, but not really the subject of this thread
