Just spent the weekend at Reno, staying at Harrahs. Couldn't help but notice that the 'art' hanging on the walls there are pretty awful and I really hope that the money paid for them isn't the reason that Caesars is in such financial trouble. They also have the ugliest lamp thingy hanging from the ceiling. Edit on 11/19: I just realized that the first one is suppose to be orientated 90 degrees clockwise.
I've blocked the details of it from my memory but I remember my room at Monte Carlo had the most f'd up art the last time I was there.
I should have hit you up Pete..wife and I have been at Reno Harrah's the past three weekends, lol. Played mostly at ElDo, you?
I don't mind the OPs photos, surprised harrahs Reno doesn't have something far worse. The art in the Augustus tower at CP is really old fashioned and hideous. I really like the art in Aria sky suites hallways and Encore rooms. The overall decor in some of the new Bellagio rooms is pretty garish too.
I have to say, Harrahs Reno West Tower (pictures in question) is TINY ROOMS! HOWEVER...that damn blackout curtain works WELL! BROAD ASS DAYLIGHT, and I slept like it was PITCH BLACK! (That'll teach em' to keep their crap tables open 24 hours, LOL)
Not a fan of cheap room art either since it makes me feel as if I'm in a shady motel. I prefer modern hotel rooms with nice furniture, TVs, and lighting. There's really no need for room art nowadays..
We probably passed each other a dozen times and didn't even realize it. Wife and I usually play for a bit at Harrahs since we stay there, then cross the street to Eldorado. We'll split our time between there and Silver Legacy. I think we spent 15 minutes in Circus Circus. We also usually head down south and play for a bit at Peppermill when in Reno, but for some reason didn't do it this time.
I actually like lame room art. Of course they put non offensive pictures in all the rooms and I find it interesting how they must have come to the decision which pictures to put in there. There had to be deliberations about it at some point in the process. I used to have motel 6 lobby art in my house. my parents managed them for years and when they would renovate they would just toss everything out.
