I was planning to give my best buddy a Boyd Gift Card for Christmas. So as I was looking at the gift card page I noticed on the left hand side of the web page information of my card status and slot and card points.

I did a quick check of the points posted and confirmed all is in order, however, I noticed a new section called "table points". What the heck is table points? The Bconnected page doesn't show any table points on my card status info. Never knew there was such a thing.

Can anyone tell me what this is? By the way, my points is "0", LOL!!

Table points at Boyd are for tier only. They then send you comps in the mail or you ask the pit boss for a comp. like if you've been shooting craps for a couple of hours you might ask the pit for a buffet. I get free table bet and food credit coupons from a local Boyd casino. I don't think I have many points at all that I could cash in for free play, meals etc....

I was told by the rewards desk that table points count double for comps.
    I have Slot Points:7,775
    Table Points:28,895

So I have $7.77 and $57.78 in comps

Unfortunately I hate to be the bearer of bad news..wrong on both counts...
Table points are just what they say they are..points accumulated from playing tables...
HOWEVER, they're only accumulated/redeemable Boyd properties OUTSIDE of Las Vegas (Tunica most specifically)
If you've never played at a Boyd property OUTSIDE of Vegas, then a pitboss fucked up and entered something in some place that's useless to you if you never visit OUTSIDE of Vegas

Sam's Town Tunica has promoted "Table Games multipliers" on billboards too this year, fwiw. But they also lowered slots/VP to 30c/60c a point from 25c/50c this last trip in October. But 9/6 JoB still exists on bartops at least I suppose (best bartop in Tunica)...

Which is why my "table points" is zero, lol! Interesting, and thanks for the input, guys, I appreciate it!

What's also interesting/funny is that the info was displayed at a MSS web page pertaining to how one can get Boyd gift cards. I just happened to click on that particular link. Weird how a Downtown property that doesn't participate in table points promotions would be displaying a table points meter. Threw me off for sure!

Thanks for the info Tim. I was wondering why it said "0" next to table points. I figured they screwed me.

That's my understanding, as well. I never had any table points until some showed up after playing at Sam's Town in Tunica. Just for fun, try asking what table points are at any of the Boyd/Coast player clubs. Some of the answers, if they offer any, are hilarious!

Thanks for the clarification! I've only played Boyd outside of LV.

Are you saying that some Boyd employees might be less than informed about company policies? I am SHOCKED!

This thread made me go check my Bconnected page. I have some table points. You are saying that these are what I accumulated playing craps at Imperial Palace in Biloxi only? And that my blackjack play at MSS will not be added to that total? Then where is the Las Vegas table game play added too now?

And also hard to figure why the slot points and table points don't add up to the total amount of points. The total is higher than the sum of both.

They just add it to your Tier Score, but NOT slot points.
If you want comps when you play table games @ Boyd in Vegas, you MUST ask the Pit Boss! (or charge to your room and go through a Host at the end...although I'm not sure how much they'd give you)

Big Tip: I also get my table points from Tunica and Biloxi. I have sent in a question to Bconnected asking for a clarification of what table points are and I will put it on here when I hear back..

So slot points (shown on Bconnected) + table points earned outside Vegas properties (shown on Bconnnected) + table points earned in Vegas (not shown on Bconnected) = Tier Score?

I can see that. Doesn't make much sense, but at least that explains some strange math on the site.

    Correct..sorta..
Slot points (and "Table Points") can be earned at a multiplier which DOES NOT apply to the "Tier Score"...but yeah..you get the idea.
If you NEVER played ANY sort of slots/vp in Vegas, and ONLY played tables (be it craps, or BJ, or PGP) you'd NEVER see any slots points, but your Tier Score rise...and you'd probably also wonder "WHEN THE HELL DO I GET COMPS?!?" LOL
    I did that early on..and I realized..if you don't ASK the PitBoss, you don't.

I play an hour or two of VP each trip, but I mostly play at the tables. It must be doing some good because they keep sending me offers all the time.

\Yup, just don't forget to ask the PitBoss after playing tables, for a food comp! (Be it buffet or restaurant, definitely ASK!)

    Finally got reply.

    Dear Joseph

Thank you for your inquiry. Slot points are points you earned while playing on the slot machines for every 1000 points you earn it is equal to $1 once you earn 500 points or more you can download your money back to the machine and play it or if you use it for food it doubles in the food outlets for $2. Table points are points you earned while playing the table games you can only use them for food or room or in the gift shop. And it is dollar for dollar In the gift shop. If I can be of further assistance please feel free to contact me.
