Apparently our group decision maker for got it was OU/TX weekend which means I now have to be up before 9 am for the kickoff. Where's the best place downtown to watch college football?

Yea, the 9am kickoff sucks. We'll be at Mandalay Bay for the game. Going to be tough to be up that early in Vegas.

Plaza has the biggest book downtown. I myself like the bar in the sportsbook at the Fremont.

I would recommend Chicago Brewing Co @ Four Queens or 777 Brew Pub @ MSS or Pizza Rock, but they aren't going to be open that early. You are pretty much relegated to a sportsbook or bar that has decent TVs.

    I second 777 @ MSS.
Longbar at the D is a good spot too.
Binions recently added some loungers outside the sports book but I haven't seen them in person yet.

I have not spent time there, but the Plaza book is big with big screens.
MSS brew pub is good too. Maybe they will open early Saturdays during football season. Make your sports bets at The Cal by the way.

(don't let my Austin location fool ya!)

3 weekends ago watched the Saturday games at the Plaza (got there at 8:30 AM). It is the biggest place downtown, however they do not do a good job of keeping the ********* out. Over the last year, the place has become dirtier and sketchy people were hanging out there. Also, while Pop Up Pizza was great, the bar did not have their beer specials like they did the previous year. A lot of locals were holding tables and chairs for people and it looked liked they were not even making wagers. People would come into the book, try to find a place to sit, but there was none as the locals were all spread out and even made rude remarks about people who asked if any seats were available. Its sad as last year we had a great time at the Plaza Book. It was so bad, that we decided not to come back on Sunday and went to El Cortez and had a great time with $2 Buds and good $1 hot dogs.
While other places do not have the space the Plaza does, here is what I noticed. Golden Nugget is nice but small. $18 buckets of beers. El Cortez has a little more room, not very big tvs, cheap. Fremont is very small, no big tvs, has some drink specials. I believe $2 coors. The Cal has space upstairs at their book and some newer tvs, don't know about drink specials. The D, has an extremely small book. 4 tables no other chairs, only a couple of small tvs.
