We're heading to Vegas in February - I've been there before but it has been years, but my husband never has. He was a blackjack dealer at a casino in Minnesota for 5 years, and he loves the tables. Some of his pit bosses were from Vegas, so he's excited to get there and check it out. We're looking for the best bang for our buck, so looking for great deals and hope we find some here!!
Welcome to the board & congrats on your upcoming trip!! Scour each topic you are interested in - to get the most updated info but ask away with any questions the vets on here and help with. Good luck!!!
Welcome, best deal will usually be found downtown dollar wise where in ND?, buddy of mine is working up near Williston, great money but oil work ain't easy
We're in eastern ND, but my husband did work in the oil fields for 1-1/2 years - tough going and very expensive living out there. He had to live in a man camp and share a small trailer with another guy for $500 a month. It ended up not being worth it because we were paying mortgages for 2 households, more or less. If you're single and can find a cheap place to live, it definitely can be worth it. The crime has gone crazy out west also compared to how ND usually is. They're always looking for workers in Williston and even working at Burger King can be a job for $15 to $20 an hour!
He definitely can - I run gaming in a small bar here in our town, and he deals sometimes there - he's everyone's favorite dealer because he makes it so entertaining, and he's such a good dealer. He's also a good player, so we're definitely looking forward to his first time in Vegas!
Welcome to the board. February will be a great time to get out of ND....trust me! We usually hit Vegas 2-3x during the winter months. It is so great to get away from the cold, snow, and wind. Plus, Allegiant flies out of Fargo & Grand Forks pretty cheaply that is is hard not to go because the price is right!!
Yeah Kayhill, he's single, has his own 15x20 room, free at the small truck contractors yard, only pita is driving 60 miles just to get to a Wal-Mart, but zero crime since he doesn't drink and only heads into town for stuff Amazon can't or won't deliver
That's good to hear - people have been disappearing out there, so you never know what will happen in Williston and, yes, if you're out in the boonies, it can be a long drive to get anywhere with decent stores. Good for him - sounds like it's working well for him money-wise with a free place to stay! - - - Updated - - - Yes - especially if we have a winter like last year (praying not!). - - - Updated - - - Thanks for the welcomes everybody!
