The Eastern confrence and Western confrences are out of balance. Right now there are 16 Eastern and 14 Western teams. If Vegas and Seattle come in they will obviously be in the West creating an even bigger imbalance. Who goes back to the East? Nashvile , Detroit? They just came over to the East and like the time changes and TV away games at a normal hour on school nights.
There is a lot of realignment work that has to be done..again
Always thought Quebek City would get a franchise back. Maybe if Florida goes under.

You have this completely reversed. Detroit and Columbus moved to the East last season. The west has 14 and the east has 16 teams right now. 2 teams in the west would even it out.

Right my bad. Had it in my head that Nashvile came to east with Detroit don't know what I was thinking.
Just think there is a lot of Canadian pressure to get Quebek back in the NHL. Must say that Nords nation would come to Prudential center and cheer for devils. They weren't obnoxious at all.Not like Ranger, Flyers and leaf fans(lol).
Would like to see them get another chance .

I would come to Vegas to see the Flyers play there!

But expansion is stupid for the NHL. They need to identify two teams struggling (Panthers are one I can think of) and relocate them.

So many go to Nashville and St Louis now that those teams put ticket policies in place to try and discourage Hawk fans.

as for guessing where they would play this is from a Sun article :

MGM Resorts International and Anschutz Entertainment Group are building a 20,000-seat venue on the Strip. Slated for completion in spring 2016, the $350 million facility could be leased to a basketball or hockey franchise. And unlike other proposals, it is financed without public money.

Betting on the Vegas team would probably be wise too - the road teams, especially if they come in the night before a game, could get a bit distracted.

Stop! Wait! Before everybody gets too excited here they should actually read the article, not just the title.

Though the link is to a Sports Illustrated site the story isn't from Sports Illustrated, and the article pretty much reads as: everybody is saying "no" to NHL expansion right now and "no" to Las Vegas, but here is one reporter in Vancouver, BC who says that the NHL is going to expand to Las Vegas! And what they don't expound upon is that the reporter being referenced is traditionally a shit disturber who subscribes to the school of "if you have nothing to write about today, just make something up - and the more controversial the better" that for years the Canucks management and coaching staff just looked upon as the local laughingstock for the bizarre made up crap he wrote about.

Maybe too early to get excited, but where's there smoke there's fire. They haven't expanded in 15 years and it would bring in 1.4 billion which is too much for the owners to pass up.

I don't think that betting on the Vegas team will be an option, at least not in Vegas or the state of NV.
