    What do you guys think?

I have been loyal to Boyd properties for the last 3 trips. Made Sapphire my first trip, now I'm over 100k tier points. If I stay loyal I'm guessing 50/50 I'm able to make Emerald (250k) by the end of April 2015 when I start losing tier points. Should be 3 or 4 more trips by then.

I've made a couple side trips to Red Rock (Station) and really like the place. I'm guessing they send me a teaser based on my recent trip there. Might be fun to stay somewhere else for a change.

Should I give Station a shot or is Boyd consistently a better bet for the 5k-10k a day VP player?

Will Boyd step it up if I continue to show loyalty? They have given me some minor offers above free nights but nothing significant like the coveted gold or silver cards. Is Emerald worth seeking out?

So far Boyd has been more then fair with me but maybe the grass is greener on the other side?

Boyd is WAAAAY better for the 5k-10k player...
Even better for the Emerald player..
With Stations it'll take at LEAST 25k a day.. (We played pretty good at Sunset Station and never seen ANYTHING from them)

Thanks Tim. Really liked the VP machines over at Red Rock. They are brand spanking new, lightning fast, plenty of full pay and the place is really nice. If they sent me an offer I would certainly be tempted. On the downside points rewarded on the full pay was pretty dismal so your experience doesn't shock me.

Exactly..They say "Ohhh 3x points!!" but then they say "anything full-pay only earns ¼ points"!

From what I read, stations is notorious for no-mailing players that consistently play +EV video poker, which sounds like your intent. I don't blame you for loving Red Rock though. Beautiful property. Will definitely go back when we have a car!

I know Sam's Town ain't much, but if you want to play the full-pay deuces, I would think you'll get more from them. Hell, I hit and run the place last trip for the first time, maybe a few hundred bucks of coin-in mostly on FPDW, and could get a night there free on my g/f's birthday (a Sun. in Sept.)! If we go to Vegas for her b-day (pending), likely don't take the offer, but with our level of coin-in...:evillaugh...yeah, wtf?

Good to know. I'll be doing a blackjack tournament and 3 nights over the weekend courtesy of Sam's Town on my next trip thanks to FPDW and full pay bar top. 10k a day for 3 days then 8k a day for 3 days on trip 2. Not bad.

    Just a quick update -

No offers from Station casinos as of yet, by mail or online, not even discount rate.

I played VP and bubble craps.Probably 5k worth of bets in one day.

Looks like Boyd is the clear winner.

Thanks for the update. When you're doing $10k/day are you playing dollar machines?

I play 90% quarter level. I'm only able to hit 10k in a day because I'm a pretty fast player. 800 hands an hour (1k an hour coin in playing quarters) is pretty typical for me. 5-10 hours would accomplish my range playing 100% quarters. Closer to 4-8 hours when i'm mixing in the 50 cent and dollar level.

Combined me and my wife can do 1k per hour on quarters.
Edit to add: We try to play hour long sessions, I've done 2-hours sessions but I really don't like sitting that long.

I'll be the 6' tall, 31 year old white guy probably wearing my lucky Seahawks shirt. You will probably see me playing the 10/7 Double Bonus or hunched over a bartop at some point your first day at MSS. I'm doing 2 nights at MSS before heading to Sam's Town. Looks like I'm getting in a day before you do. Say hi if you spot me.

My experience with Stations - Palace is if I win- or break even-no offers; If I lose quite a bit I get offers. My youngest son plays nickels and he has mid week offer all month??!!
